Do we know how this age compares with previous times in human history? Even 10 years old is extremely late in the game to reach sexual maturity as far as the animal kingdom goes. Might it be that something in our social and reproductive selection has changed to a point where we are rolling back whatever happened to us to extend childhood so long in comparison to other organisms?
