I hate when I can't get a decent ping on my details.

Only 10 more years! lol

Basically, the material YBCO works at the liquid nitrogen temps instead of helium. Liquid nitrogen is dead cheap, plentiful, and easy to produce. This reduces the cost of using of superconductors dramatically. They also reduced the cost of production of the superconductor as well. Yes, it's big news.
iambsJul 12, 2010
Well the big news is only the manufacturing technique because other superconductors that work with liquid nitrogen have been available for years and make nice demos for science classes. But now having a superconductor that's one solid mass/grain is amazing. Can't wait to ride on a frictionless train

very cool indeed, cant wait to hear more about this field.

I though they had nitrogen capable ceramic supercunducdors in the 90s I wound what happened to those

Good news everyone!

Once they get to room temperature, everything will change.

I wonder how many times they spill that liquid nitrogen when they pour it from the barrel O.o

I thought the big news was the torsion theory and string theory?

Or Quantum physics in other words
