The oil catastrophe is far from over down here...
ferrellAug 9, 2010
BP f**ked up. That's what happened.
texmexrexAug 9, 2010
The oil mostly dispersed into the water column due to chemical dispersants, and weather. That is not to say it's not still poisoning wildlife, it's just not floating and easily viable to photographers and journalists.
dancantoneAug 9, 2010
The sea floor is blanketed with this toxic s**t...that's gonna be the big story.
joculatorAug 9, 2010
No, millions of gallons of oil and tons of toxic dispersant all just disappears over the past couple of weeks. You don't even have to think about it...you are being lied to once again. I've already heard the "experts" on GOP radio trying portray the consequences of the spill and it's "clean-up" as just enviro-wackos trying to make something out of nothing.
Millions of gallons of crude oil and tons of chemicals will end up harming some part of the ecosystem. It doesn't take an expert to figure that out. Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Wasn't it Rush who said nature would take care of itself and that liberals were trying to make something out if nothing.
It's staggering how big of a piece of s**t that guy is.
diggorelseAug 9, 2010
Does anyone know where I can place a bet that this will clean itself up faster than the alarmists are claiming?
joculatorAug 9, 2010
I'm amazed that people digg this stuff down...what's the motivation? I mean...you want giant corporations to be able to f**k thinks up without any recourse? Unless you're a BP shareholder or work for them you have to be a total idiot to digg this kind of stuff down.
Stop being so blind.

The difference between a cold water oil spill and warm gulf water spill is quite apparent. The oil does not tend to glob up in big black masses as much, in the gulf it has disburse much better than it did in Valdez. Natural processes such as oil consuming bacteria are breaking down the oil, but what will the long term effects be? Overpopulation of those bacteria, die off of critical micro-organisms and oxygen deleted dead zones? We just have to wait and see.

While this was a bad thing to happen, People need to get it into their heads that more oil than this seeps into the oceans naturally every day.
