Regular deodorant sucks anyways. It's full of chemicals and stains your clothes. Some even have a warning label saying people with kidney issues shouldn't use it. I switched to a deodorant stone about a year ago and couldn't be happier.

I knew a girl who used a deodorant stone and instead of BO she smelled like salty BO

You have to use it right and in a larger area than normal deodorant. I live in AZ so I definitely need it to work. I actually find I have less BO now. Regular deodorant tends to wear off after one good sweat.
Or maybe she was just a dirty hippie.

I think the first two are more Psychosomatic related manifestations then physical reactions in most people that display issues with those.

My wife is allergic to cold. Quite odd if you ask me. Cold water will make her break out in a rash. She used to carry around an EpiPen when she would go to a lake for the summer since they typically are a bit on the chilly side around here, she has actually gone in shock from being in cold-ish water.

My mother is allergic to the sun. She has beautiful skin and I learned early on that if I avoided excessive sunlight my skin could look pretty good too later on in life.

I regret to inform you, your mother may be an Albino.

My girlfriend seems to be allergic to changes in light. Like, if she walks from a dark room into a bright room, she'll start sneezing uncontrollably. Is that a known allergy, or is she just a weirdo?

I took a class a while back called Darwinian Medicine, it was really interesting, and from what I remember, for some of human ancestry, people lives in caves. These caves will full of mold and so when ancient man walked outside of the cave it is theorized that to clear his nasal cavity so he can breath he would sneeze and this is the idea behind why looking at the Sun makes some people sneeze (ancient man would use the cue from a sudden bright light to well sneeze) so I would hypothesize that it is the same (albeit much more extreme from your description) phenomena here.
This is just theory crafting (people didn't really document much about this and humans are long separated from cave dwelling) but pretty much I read it in a book in college, I hope it gives you an idea of something that maybe happening.

Just to add it is called the photic sneeze reflex and here is a wikipedia article to get you started http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACHOO_syndrome
