Never can keep a good highwayman down.
luv2luvNov 29, 2010
jeez leave this poor man alone. He's like the most peaceful guy ever
blinker1315Nov 29, 2010
If ever there was a more compelling case for the legalization of marijuana, I haven't seen it.
artthouboredNov 29, 2010
I always heard that his herb was top shelf
I just could not wait to find out for myself
Don't knock it til' you tried it, Well I tried it my friend
And I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
charlesdkraussNov 29, 2010
Arresting Willie and putting him in prison is just as s**tty as arresting anyone else... it's all a bunch of bulls**t. Legalize the god damn s**t already. I'm so pissed that Cali couldn't pass Prop 19, it would have started a revolution.
mtnmusicmanNov 30, 2010
Just add one more person smoking pot to an already over crowded prison system........
tsuruchibrianDec 1, 2010
I am sure there are some murderers we can release early to make room for Willie.
mtnmusicmanDec 1, 2010
Funny, but it just might be true...Unfortunately
Closed AccountNov 30, 2010
not true. it's not time yet.
FPSmotoNov 30, 2010
Revolutions don't happen over night. Yes, it does seem like one is needed sooner than later, but now medical marijuana has become mainstream and soon you will start to see more and more states legalize medical cannabis. How much you wanna bet the next time a similar proposition comes up in California, it passes?
thechauvinistNov 30, 2010
He had several ounces. Well more than Prop 19 would allow. And even if Prop 19 had passed, it wouldn't change anything in TX anyway, unfortunately.
Voters need to step up and pass this legislation. Then other states would follow.
hakaddictNov 29, 2010
That's one sad picture of Willie.
ancientdinkoNov 30, 2010
hey Willie is an old Pippi!

He's sad cause they took his pot away :(
liquidiseNov 29, 2010
Man is arrested for breaking the law. Outrage regarding the law follows. Digg foams at mouth.
I wonder what the topic matter could be...
phillaholicNov 30, 2010
Not all laws are Just. He didn't harm anyone in any way. Meanwhile, a guy that's had too much to drink gets pulled over with a DWI and gets his license revoked and has to go to some alcohol awareness classes. Do you see the problem here?
getsome2kNov 29, 2010
I don't think Willie would do well in jail... he kind of a free bird.
toksterjoksterNov 29, 2010
That's BULLs**t! FREE WILLIE!!!!
vtbarreraNov 30, 2010
I f**king love that movie!
SeattleWeeklyNov 29, 2010
You don't mess with Willie - you just don't.
linuxpersonNov 30, 2010
Anyone who still supports the war on drugs is bat s**t insane, wilfully ignorant of reality, or both.
scatteredbombNov 30, 2010
If he's actually sent to jail, this could be the best thing to ever happen for the legalization side.
ampratherNov 30, 2010
Talk about giving the "legalize it" groups a martyr. That is why he will probably get a slap on the wrist, because those that want to keep it illegal know the gift of Willie would bring.
axel1426Nov 30, 2010
#NoMamar La Leyenda Willie Nelson podria ir hasta por 2 aƱos a la carcel por posesion de Mariguana.
bbbreakNov 30, 2010
His arrest report, an image of it was released on the internet (Was at http://www.celebstoner.com/201011295337/news/celebstoner-news/willie-nelson-mug-shot-a-arrest-report.html , but that's unavailable from so much visits now), which clearly stated possession of 2 to 4 ounces. Maybe somewhere along the way, someone added 2 AND 4 and got 6, but the difference between 2 to 4 ounces and 4 ounces to 1 lb in Texas is the difference between a class A misdemeanor and a state jail felony. (http://norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4566) This means that he is not liable for up to 2 years, but instead, 1 year.

why didn't you photoshop the whale out and willie nelson in?
sniperhareNov 30, 2010
Well maybe he shouldn't travel with an illegal drug.
caramba421Nov 30, 2010
Maybe it shouldn't be illegal.
chilidogsNov 30, 2010
Maybe it shouldn't but it is illegal and if you are going to be a bad ass rebel and break the law then you need to be prepared to deal with it like a big boy.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
breadfredNov 30, 2010
Right. So, if it was against the law to walk naked in your own house even with your curtains closed, would you obey the law? Would you obey the law if it said you are not to communicate with your parents?
When does a law become so idiotic that it becomes logical to fight against it?
thefirewireDec 1, 2010
Regulating human habits is just stupid. I'm not condoning the use of drugs but instead of pouring billions into a war on human nature, why not advocate self responsibility instead. The bloat of bureaucracy that emerges when you fund these asinine laws is hurting the taxpayers, while Stoners like Willie are harming no one.
It didn't work during prohibition and it isn' working now. People know the history yet they seem willfully ignorant to repeat it. Prohibition is probably one of the most talked about and discussed event in this countries history yet here we are doing the same thing with Weed.
woollymittensNov 30, 2010
Well maybe they shouldn't enforce pointless hypocritical laws. Why is this an illegal drug and alcohol not?
chilidogsNov 30, 2010
Because old people vote.
sniperhareNov 30, 2010
And young people.
kinneasNov 30, 2010
Thank you! They have now proved overall Alcohol is the deadliest of all drugs when considering the individual, the individual's friends, family & the impact it has on society overall. Surprisingly it came in higher than METH and CRACK. Pot and a few others did not even come close. http://www.passenlaw.com/blog/personal-injury-law/alcohol-deadliest-drug
Also: With Californian's crying so much about "no money!", they seem the biggest fools in America at the moment.
I sit here and read reports from folks in my city & state going stupid crazy over the money Medical Mj is bringing in by itself. The fearmongering Law Enforcement pushed on organized crime coming in has not panned out either.
iprintallNov 30, 2010
maybe they should haphazardly enforce hypocritical laws. Either do it or don't.
chalaguenaNov 30, 2010
He should just move to California
enantiodromiaNov 30, 2010
Or stay at his Maui house
rustycawleyNov 30, 2010
Good grief. It's Willie Nelson. You would think by now we Boomers would have legalized the stuff so we can move on to important issues.
iriemeditationNov 30, 2010
yes, one would think so.... unless it's all just a distraction from the robbing and stealing and implementation of a police state :o /
akairennDec 1, 2010
"legalized the stuff so we can move on to important issues."
Given that the illegal status of marijuana means it's the sticky green lifeblood of Mexican cartels, who are happily bringing terror and violence to the streets of the United States - I'd say this *is* a damned important issue.
Kind of makes what course of action is necessary pretty damned obvious, true, but it's important, nonetheless. :p
ogylyNov 30, 2010
music without drugs does not exist
jbarker6Dec 1, 2010
Yeah it does, its called nickelback.
thefirewireDec 1, 2010
well technically you have to be on drugs to actually tolerate it.
verdella29Nov 30, 2010
Once again we are hunting marijuana users..tell me is the man power worth it to bust a ole stoner who is not hurting anyone?
mtnmusicmanNov 30, 2010
First, he should have known better. That being said, come on, like nobody knew ole Willie smoked pot. I wonder if it were a B.P.agent if they would have let him go ?
chilidogsNov 30, 2010
Pot should be legal. That said he knew that it wasn't and should face the same penalty as anyone else, which will be probation. Six ounces is a lot of joints. Why did he have so much weed?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
bluenoseboyNov 30, 2010
It's not a lot of joints when you roll 'em "Willie Nelson-Style"

I wonder how many songs about this situation will get made & how history will view those involved in the long run? As one of America's GREATEST artists he has individually contributed more to the greatness of our country/culture then the lawmakers (combined) have in the last 50 years.
In this case...perhaps the law 'should' have been blind...not absurd.
shaorNov 30, 2010
Leave him alone, he is hurting no one and is one of the worlds great singers.

If they transfer him to California he can do a remake of Folsom Prison Blues.
theanimal123Nov 30, 2010
USA! USA! USA!
phillaholicNov 30, 2010
Yea! USA! Let's spend more Tax money on throwing harmless individuals in prison for smoking pot!
jackson01pNov 30, 2010
He must involved him self with more fun activity not with the one that could destroy his life later on. Hes too old for that.

What a waste of time and money.
crisperunitNov 30, 2010
They could've let him slip away...
... out of kindness, I suppose.
digitaldeadstarNov 30, 2010
I wonder if the agent involved actually smelled the marijuana or was like "It's Willie Nelson's bus, of course there is weed on it!" It's a given.
