The NDAA is entirely unnecessary. It's essentially a repackaging of hate crime laws.
McVeigh was a mass murderer, who was prosecuted quite successfully without any legal language that labeled him an "extra bad murderer". So why do we need this? Authorities never lacked the legal tools remove hostile elements of society. The only thing the NDAA brings to the table is a lack of due process for those who might otherwise be proven innocent.

Tell that to Congress concerning Guantanamo detainees of which only approximately 70-80 have any evidence against them and most of it was gleaned through the use of repeated torture in order to talk them into admitting it.
The rest of the 171 have been found to be totally innocent of any charge but sit there for as many as 10 years

Take a good hard look, this is what bi-partisanship looks like, majorities of both parties banding together to give the Government more power at the expense of everyone else. This is the sort of thing the Government gets done. I for one find perpetual gridlock preferable.

"I for one find perpetual gridlock preferable."
Can we please repeal all laws for the last 30 years first? gridlock would indeed be preferable
