It seems that every Arab or Muslim middle eastern or African country that would not allow Islamic church involvement in government is now facing an overthrow.
We now know of Al Qaeda involvment in Egypt, Libya and Yemen. It seems The Islamic Brotherhood is pushing for a caliphate.

If you will go to the PEW Research center you will learn that a majority of followers of the Islamic faith in the middle east and northern Africa believe the church should be an integral part of government.
