All religions should be denounced in matters of politics and personal freedoms.
Separation of church and state.
If you want to be religious, by all means, that's your right.
There are areas that religion does not belong though.

It's not really possible to have a government without politics. Yeah it can cause problems, which is why it needs to operate as smoothly as it can.

The Federal Government has no trouble making smoking of marijuana illegal when it is a central tenant for the Rastafarian religion.
This looks more like a local government stand against a policy made by the Catholic Church that affects the general population. There was not even a law attached, just a resolution. This is a tempest in a teapot.

Yep, apparently the catholic church still seems to believe that it has the same clout, and power that it did in Europe before we started setting up camp over here to get away from their dogma, and oppression. The Supreme Court couldn't have ruled otherwise. The day catholic dogma is ruled in favor of the very document that made them irrellevant when it was signed by the founders would be nothing less than a seditious, and treasonous act.
