Weakened? It's f**kING ILLEGAL already. These asshats should be cooling their heels in prison like Martha did.

The President should call Harry Reid, and tell him it's dead on arrival unless the original bill is voted on.

Why did they bother, nothing will change they will keep doing what they want business as normal
MrFrogyFeb 9, 2012
I agree, but them passing a weakened (or "strengthened") bill sure does make the little people down at the base of their ivory tower feel better.... right? *eye roll*

"...the House bill cut a provision that was in the Senate version requiring people who collect and trade so-called political intelligence -- information from government that can move markets and stock prices -- to register just like lobbyists if they want to talk with covered officials in Congress and the executive branch so that the public knows who they are and what they're doing.
It also cut a provision that cracks down on officials guilty of taking actions on the job to benefit themselves."
Thanks for the reminder, Eric Cantor (R-VA) and John Boehner (R-OH). We'll be sure to express our disgust at Conservative corruption every time one of you weasels dare to ask for our political support at the voting booth. Your corruption is worthy of the "pink slips" headed your way.

Unfortunatley they all voted for it. They should have sent it back....they are all worthless crooks.

Now if we could just get that 28th Amendment through Congress and ratified by the states. Unlikely, but this at least gives a spark of hope.
Donuts4UFeb 9, 2012
28th amendment? You don't mean the urban legend I hope.

How is any of this anyone's fault but ours... the collective of the American people?!
We keep voting these self-serving a-holes back into office! If they were actually afraid of losing their cushy jobs they might actually work FOR the people like they are supposed to. But, like the proverbial "coach's son" on a sports team... they know they're not going to get cut... so they don't have to try hard.

Don't get lost in the illusion of political choice. Most politicians never make it to our ballots before being thoroughly vetted and culled by the same private sector forces which corrupt our government.
Why do you think Obama backed off of his 2008 campaign promises after the election was over?
sheopleherderFeb 9, 2012
Wow another great deal for the little people. We can't cheat the system and now they can't cheat the system unless they use an investment firm to do it for them... I wish more American's understood this double standard...Bet they legalize drugs for Congress before they legalize them for everyone else... Real tough guys.
falstaffFeb 9, 2012
The bill passed 417-2.
Let's stop pretending this is a partisan issue.
crom99Feb 10, 2012
Imagine the flak one would get for voting no. You vote no because the bill is watered down, but it's spun to make it look like you support insider trading. It's a lose/lose scenario, and I think that was the intention.

When some known devils are sitting as lawmakers then how can a law be legislated as per the desired demand of the Public on the contrary it has to be as per the desire of the country's worst enemy AIPAC the worst lobby group eating the marrow of American nation.
