It amuses me to no end how the religious types always attack the religious and/or the personal beliefs of some one else....especially during important elections such as this one. Just goes to show they are scared and grasping for straws....whatever happened to sticking to the issues at hand and separating church and state....?

You really don't understand context at all, do you? That wasn't even a foot-in-his-mouth gaffe, that was a common manner of speech addressing the charge of being called Muslim. If he had said, "My 'quote' Muslim 'unquote' faith" in a really sarcastic tone, would you understand it then?
Most of society can pick up on less subtle cues in speech and context. You're either deliberately obtuse or unintentionally autistic.
