Our country doesn't give a f**k about due process.

"Yet last month the Military Commissions Convening Authority, the body in charge of granting defense resources, inexplicably rejected a joint request from both the defense and the prosecution for the defense to be able to request resources from the Authority without sharing the request with the prosecution. On Tuesday, the defense challenged the Authority’s rejection before Judge James Pohl, who seemed uncertain about whether he had the authority to overrule the Convening Authority’s decision."
So the Conveying Authority denied a request that the Defense is ALLOWED by law to ask and receive, and the judge isn't sure that he has the authority to follow the law?
This is a person's life we are talking about. How the hell is everything so unorganized and confusing but still allowed to proceed?

Lame. Unlawful combatants arent afforded protection of the geneva convention let alone our own justice system.

In prior conflicts, unlawful combatants were given a quick tribunal, sometimes on the spot. And then summarily executed.

Good grief! This place has to be shut down. Why are the republicons blocking its closure?

Because they have sense. They don't think bad guys can be dealt with by giving them sunshine and hubs and rainbows like the left does. The ACLU of course is just happy to see anything that wants to destroy America so of course they are upset that these animals are being locked up.

because when it was brought up that they would have to put the prisoners somewhere else (our regular prisons) until they can get their hearings/trials/whatever the republicans (and everyone else, actually) put up a big stink with a "Not in my backyard!" stance.
