well obviously obama's done something to provoke such a response of 33K users lost in one day. I find that most obama supporters know almost nothing about him, only getting tid bits here and there.

People followed him because of the Twitter Town Hall - just like I fanned John Boehner's Facebook page. I wanted to relay my thoughts on the debt ceiling, then promptly "unfanned" his page.
GET IT YET? Republicans stopped following him after the Twitter Town Hall. Think.

He's created millions of jobs. What rock have you been living under?
"This morning, the Labor Department released its employment data for December, showing that the U.S. economy ended the year by adding 113,000 private sector jobs, knocking the unemployment rate down sharply from 9.8 percent to 9.4 percent — its lowest rate since July 2009. The “surprising drop — which was far better than the modest step-down economists had forecast — was the steepest one-month fall since 1998.” October and November’s jobs numbers were also revised upward by almost 80,000 each. Still, 14.5 million Americans remain unemployed, and jobs will have to be created much faster in coming months for the country to pull itself out of the economic doldrums."

And, If you know your debate skills suck spectacularly, you should have fought the urge to respond to my post with your usual juvenile horsesh*t. B). Refute *what* whole deal? You didn't even make the original argument. But since you like moving the goal post so much, why don't you first explain how Bush's policies created jobs? That way we'll all know what your criteria are (and you won't be able to move the goal post again and waste ore of my time). Yes, I'm onto your dodge, dance, and deflect tactics, davey. ;-PComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Unregistered_CowardJul 31, 2011
Obama didn't create those jobs, private industry did as it recovered from the effects of the recession. You know, lay people off, hire them back.
Show us the jobs created specifically by Obama's policies. Point to the sustainable, living wage paying jobs created as a result of Barack Obama's trillion dollar stimulus spending program.

CBO: Stimulus Has Raised Employment By 1.4-3.6 Million. A November 2010 report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated that as of the third quarter of 2010, the stimulus lowered the unemployment rate "by between 0.8 percentage points and 2.0 percentage points," compared to what would have happened in the absence of the stimulus. From the report:
CBO estimates that ARRA's policies had the following effects in the third quarter of calendar year 2010:
They raised real (inflation-adjusted) gross domestic product (GDP) by between 1.4 and 4.1 percent,
Lowered the unemployment rate by between 0.8 percentage points and 2.0 percentage points,
Increased the number of people employed by between 1.4 million and 3.6 million, and
Increased the number of full-time-equivalent jobs by 2.0 million to 5.2 million compared with what would have occurred otherwise (see Table 1). (Increases in FTE jobs include shifts from part-time to full-time work or overtime and are thus generally larger than increases in the number of employed workers). Oh, by the way... You should be ashamed of your extreme ignorance, coward. You're clearly a typical lazy blathering wingnut who does not read, watch, or listen to any media that doesn't reflect that which you've already decided is true or untrue--regardless of the facts presented to you. Why do you continue to post crap and raise questions which demonstrate your lack of critical thinking skills (and the fact that you never bother to consider sources that express viewpoints different from your own)? Why aren't you embarrassed to be so poorly educated?
P.S. I can tell you what President Obama has done that *hasn't* created jobs--and that's extending the Bush tax cuts. The Bush tax cuts have FAILED (as evidenced by Bush's own crappy job creation performance) and the Obama stimulus sucked because it was mostly USELESS neocon tax cuts. What's hilarious is that brain-dead neocons who love to bitch about Obama's job creation performance (well, let's be honest, you love to bitch. period) didn't even think it was the President's responsibility to create jobs when their mentally challenged hero Bush was in office. You also didn't give a CRAP about the "true" unemployment numbers or the quality of the few jobs Bush DID create. So why do you people still think you're fooling anyone when you bitch about Obama for every conceivable reason under the sun? ;-PComment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Good job going with the stock CBO guesstimates of what the trillion dollar stimulus program has done. Point to the jobs. Show me what industry has benefited, aside from Wall Street and the unionized auto workers. Break it down, show me the stats. Real, sustained employment, a direct result of stimulus spending.
Also kudos on the partisan attack. When cornered, come out swinging with the insults and characterizations.
I campaigned for Obama, I voted for Obama. He's been nothing but an embarrassment, a failure of epic proportions.

coward, do us both a favor and stop lying because I don't believe for one second that you either supported or voted for Obama. I DON'T BELIEVE YOU. I don't believe you and I'm no longer playing this silly game where you constantly move the goalpost. Whether or not you choose to admit it, you're a sad, bitter, ridiculously naive little wingnut. And the dead giveaway is that, like most right wingers, you have somehow convinced yourself (based on no supporting evidence whatsoever) that *you* are always more expert than the most expert of experts--on any subject. It's the freaking non-partisan CBO, dude! What superior training or educational background in economics do you have that's convinced you you're more of an authority on the economy than they are? First, it's Labor Dept figures that don't matter. Next it's the CBO that isn't as qualified an authority on the economy as you are. Oh, and let's exclude union jobs from the count too, while we're at it. That is the epitome of right wing lunacy. This is how neocons have managed to dumb down a significant segment of our citizenry. By your warped logic and reasoning, there are no experts and you are always the final word on who can and can't be trusted as an authority. Obama doesn't want or need unhinged and delusional voters like you, coward.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

agmlauncherJul 30, 2011
You expect leadership when the office of the president of the united states is one of the most functionless and powerless puppet offices in the world? (Except for maybe the Royal Monarchy...)
Tell me, what power does Obama ACTUALLY have? Like, what can he ACTUALLY do for the country? Nothing. It's a crippled position by design because we're afraid of kings and hitlers.
Meanwhile all the real power resides in the house and senate - which means HUNDREDS OF IDEOLOGICALLY OPPOSED f**kING PEOPLE have to agree on something for anything to actually get pushed through.
And because the population is so politically polarized due to district layouts, it means pandering to the center is strategically weak compared to pandering to the extremes on both sides. So what you have is an ignorantly and ideologically opposed system of government stuck in a perpetual tug of war.
It's time for a new system of government. Representative democracy does not work, and is now irrelevant in today's world of hyper connectivity. There's no reason why citizens can't have direct voting power over major issues through electronic voting.
amaoicanJul 30, 2011
"Tell me, what power does Obama ACTUALLY have? Like, what can he ACTUALLY do"
Just for starters, he can hire and fire anyone in the federal bureaucracy, and only the cabinet-level hirings need to be approved by congress. That also means he has effective power to give orders to anyone in the bureaucracy, including cabinet level officials. If I decide whether or not you will have a job tomorrow, I control how you do your job today.
Unregistered_CowardJul 31, 2011

its not about the economy or any thing like that. he is using it to rally the troops... many times a day... give pats on the back... its the wrong thing to do with twitter.
the smart thing would be for him to post those tweets. he should make them personal... they sound like press releases. "hey this the obama you sit and have a beer with." obama the real guy. that would be effective.
