I suppose we should be shocked, but we're not.
Aside from the annoyance of petty theft, shouldn't these employees be subject to a fairly rigorous screening? I have to wonder how much someone would have to bribe one of these individuals to look the other way while something dangerous was brought through security. All these procedures and equipment are only as good as the weakest link; and these folks appear to be the weak link.
