Fox was going to invent something to complain about, it was just a matter of finding out what. There is no disaster or loss of life large enough to keep them from pursuing their political agenda and the money it brings them.

Agreed jonathon well said.

Fox will find something to bitch about.
wf80diditMay 30, 2011
You're exaggerating. The original article from Fox Nation wrote 3 sentences.
"Earlier today President Obama spoke at a memorial service in Joplin, MO honoring those who lost their lives to the destructive tornado that stuck the region last week. Seen at the last seconds of this video clip it appears as though President Obama was chewing gum. What do you think?" Followed by the same 44 second clip.
It was FON's Mona who then saw fit to extrapolate upon those 3 sentences and make a phony outrage over it. Pretty lame and even more lame she had to bring Sarah Palin into it for no reason at all.
FON is garbage. They're like the left's political version of TMZ.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
jonwhMay 31, 2011
Even that is too much, it's obvious that they are trying to make the President look bad, and most people, especially those reading Fox Nation, only need one word to bitch about .
Also why is the President chewing gum during a speech newsworthy? Does it show that he is a bad leader because he's able to speak eloquently and chew gum at the same time?
Fox is just continuing the status quo of doing anything they can to destroying this man, what's even more mind blowing is that they say their doing it under the guise of patriotism, what a joke.
Darkeforce1May 31, 2011
Isn't it about time for them to have Ted Nugent back on Fox again... you know, the man who publicly incites violence against the US President by telling Obama to sit on his assault rifle (a.k.a. compensation for a tiny penis)?

How is that phony outrage? Why even pose the question? I can't believe you would even attempt to try an defend/justify Fox.
You accuse FON of being like TMZ. But you fail to see that Fox just illustrated how they are acting like TMZ. Criticizing the POTUS for chewing gum. I surprised then didn't draw stuff on his face like Perez-Hilton.
wf80diditMay 31, 2011
You too?
Look, I had FNC on yesterday and the day before and didn't see anyone talking about this. Nothing! Please prove me wrong.
This was a 3 sentence blog from some assclown who writes for Fox Nation who obviously had nothing better to do. Until I see Hannity, O'Reilly, Greta, Beck, Kelly, Huckabee or any other of their talking heads pick this up and run with it, I'm gonna chalk it up to being a slow news day for this particular Fox Nation blogger.
Face it. Media Matters has specifically targeted FN and that's why you're seeing these phony outrage articles from the far left, in the name of the right, over this. It's nothing to get worked up about. Hell, I could care less he was chewing gum. I'm chewing gum right now!

It doesn't matter which guy you are backing, what is trite and unimportant should remain trite and unimportant. If Obama is completely tactless, it has no bearing on what happened in Joplin, and his actions there.
Lets move beyond third grade antics in our news media, and get down to some real reporting please? There are things going on foreign and domestically that should be covered 24/7. There should be people rolling down the streets of every major city in protest of just a few of the situations that our world finds ourselves in. Instead we focus on the mundane, like what Sarah Palin has written on her hand or who's wiener was Weiner showing? When will people wake up -- you are being desensitized, and taking the bait.

...."""
as Reverend Brown alluded to, the question that weighs on us at a time like this is: Why? Why our town? Why our home? Why my son, or husband, or wife, or sister, or friend? Why?
We do not have the capacity to answer. We can’t know when a terrible storm will strike, or where, or the severity of the devastation that it may cause. We can’t know why we’re tested with the loss of a loved one, or the loss of a home where we’ve lived a lifetime.
These things are beyond our power to control. But that does not mean we are powerless in the face of adversity. How we respond when the storm strikes is up to us. How we live in the aftermath of tragedy and heartache, that’s within our control. And it’s in these moments, through our actions, that we often see the glimpse of what makes life worth living in the first place....,

Here's how it works: when you're the one making the racist comment you're an idiot. When you call attention to someone else's racism, they're the idiot. It's not just the word, it's also the intent. This is not a complicated idea, but it seems to trip a lot of people up.
In fairness to Fox, though - I think they're a lot more upset because he's liberal and educated than they are that he's black.
adaguyMay 30, 2011
Are you a travelin' man?
Darkeforce1May 31, 2011
It's not the word that's offensive, it's how it's used (or avoided being used) that's the issue. That's the reason why neither Digg, nor any other similar comment site would ban such a comment.
Methinks thou doest protest too much. Are you that afraid of the First Amendment?
wf80diditMay 31, 2011
That word should never be used and IS offensive no matter the context. Digg staff shouldn't be able to pick and choose who they wanna ignore and who they wanna ban when it comes to reported comments. Their TOU is cut and dry. If I had to suffer then thewriteguy should have to as well.
Like I said earlier I've been banned for saying a whole lot less than this but have learned my lesson because now I know the 1st Amendment doesn't always apply here. If it did there wouldn't be a voting/reporting system at all to begin with.
That's all I got to say about this. I'm dropping it because this story wasn't newsworthy to begin with. It was a phony outrage piece, created by the left, in the name of the right, that never existed in the first place.
Darkeforce1Jun 1, 2011
Waa-waa! Complain, complain. Hypocrisy, hypocrisy. Words are meaningless taken out of context, and Digg understands that, even if you don't.
You've been banned because of the highly offensive context of your words.
Oh, and it's the right that created it, not the left. The left is just pointing and laughing at the performing monkeys (and very bad performing monkeys at that)

Why are so many people in our country so willing to accept what they see on the "news" without question… so giddily happy and nearly proud to remain so uninformed? The depths to which the "4th Estate" has sunk is the result of a deliberate plan to obscure the differences between contrived drama and reality.. and it will be very difficult to turn around now that several generations have already been indoctrinated.
After the so-called "Liberal Press" had successfully caused the resignation of Richard Nixon… not to mention the imprisonment of many of his Administration, the right-wing knew that it had to make changes.
Did the disgraced GOP see the error of their ways and try to conduct themselves as honest lawmakers , trying to help govern in the spirit of compromise and genuine debate?
Don’t make me laugh...
Instead, they decided to just call all of their friends occupying the boardrooms of America (and elsewhere), get a few financial syndicates together and simply purchase most of the corporations that owned news operations so as to control them to the extent that zero "negative" news exposing their criminality would ever reach the mass market, and that only their particular political propaganda would be presented.
The "privatization" of truth.
They then hired the first of their "beards", a vapid, churlish, third-rate actor named Ronald Reagan who did precisely as he was told, and, in one of his first acts as President, canceled the "Fairness Doctrine", which mandated that those who broadcast editorials while leasing parts of the public airwaves (the owners those airwaves) so as to allot equal editorial time so that they may be allowed to express opposing viewpoints.
With this, the last vestiges of a truly free, independent press was sent into oblivion... usurping the only viable countrywide forum and handing it over to the wealthiest interests in America … an exclusive national pulpit from which to spread their lies… and at the same time virtually silencing the views of all others.
It is more than ironic that, since Ronald Reagan's initial 'claim to fame' as an "actor" was co-starring with a chimp , that the second 'beard' injected into the Oval Office was the chimp itself.
It’s worse now than ever… even more reason to fight with everything we have… for without honest information, we are lost.

And what was the point in putting Palin in the article? Why not attack the people who ARE actually running and attack them for their political platforms/views instead of this gossipy "OMG! Did you see SP on a Harley with stuff written on her hand" bs? It all seems so childish to me. I guess I'm just not as easily amused by stuff like this as your viewers are. Sorry. You know I still love ya though. You make Digg a fun place to be.
Hope you're having a nice Memorial Day too! I'm about to go get my bbq on :)Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Sarah Palin said Obama should roll his sleeves up and stop campaigning...he did while *she was campaigning*. She demonized him for using a teleprompter and *twice* she's been caught reading off her hand. Her endless attacks on our President have made us look weak. Read what other countries think of us right now. They laugh at us, but since that's acceptable to you, then by all means, justify it.
I don't 'write' for FON. It's my site.

@anomaly100
Gotcha. :-)

Really wf80 didit, anomoly's mind is made up, don't confuse her with the facts. After reading about you it's probably safe to say that Anomoly and her buddies are diametrically opposed to everything you stand for.
You've been on Digg long enough to know that the denizens of the left are so unsure of their argument that they're prepared to jump down the throat of anyone who contradicts them.
Check out the submissions of people like anomoly, janninewallace, novy and philperspective; it's obvious that they assume sophistry is some sort of substitute for the facts.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Well that's bulls**t, because when he submits something and I see it or he mentions it, I've dugg it, regardless if it's in my taste.
By the way, are you still digging Occidental Dissent submits (the white nationalist website)?

Thanks for baiting everyone with the inaccurate submission headline.
Read the Submission title that you gave it, which clearly states this is "Fox".
but of course, you doing that is perfectly fine.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Digg really didn't like your comments on this, did they?
davidtcMay 31, 2011
Cause it is true what she said.
We got Anomaly putting up deliberatly innacurate headlines and her butt-buddies blind digging it up.
Then we got quirk pointing out the innacurate headline and she gets buried for it.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I'm sure he wasn't chewing gum unless the Teleprompter told him to.

You mean unless he had to rely on the notes he writes on the palms of his hands, don't you? Oh...wait... ;-x

Yes, I agree that Obama is just as unqualified as Palin to be President.
