The day when all Politicians start acting in ways that follow their political platform is the day when hell freezes over. When a politician uses the word hypocrisy I instantly roll my eyes. When a politician says that one side is better favored than the other I can't help but laugh.
Politicians have become the biggest jokes out there. They are pathetically petty people with zero remorse for anything that they do. Always pointing fingers at the other guy saying, "Well the other side has done it so it's all okey-dokey."
I hate that mentality.
They need to start taking responsibility for their mistakes instead of passing the blame. I won't be able to respect them until they can manage something as simple as that.

This is politics. Hypocrisy is part of the job description. What differentiates candidates is the level of hypocrisy. Gingrich has it down to a science.

and an Art

No doubt about it.

There was a LOT of smoke blowing at the Republican presidential debate in South Carolina . . . and it smelled like hypocrisy.Gingrich responded to a question about his second wife's charge that he'd asked for an open marriage. Gingrich replied, "I am appalled that you would begin a Presidential debate on a topic like that . . . the story is false . . . I'm tired of the elite media protecting Barack Obama and attacking Republicans." Mitt Romney believes in free enterprise, but take umbrage when questioned about his quarter-billion dollar personal fortune and the business practices that created. And he's coy about whether he'll release years of tax returns.
Isn't THAT hypocritical?
barackalypseJan 23, 2012
Not really, but it is pretty hypocritical for a serial adulturer like Gingrich to talk about the defense of marriage. Romney is pretty hypocritical criticizing Obamacare when its basically the same law he enacted as Governor of Mass.
drich255Jan 23, 2012
1. Yes, Romney signed Romneycare -- but it was basically written by Democrats. He also used the line item veto on 8 sections of it, but all 8 vetos were overriden by the Mass. Democratic controlled legislature.
2. President Obama and the Democrats in Congress would have been able to write Obamacare just fine even if Romneycare never existed.
3. Don't like Obamacare? Fine, but put the blame where it belongs. Rommney didn't write it, Romney didn't vote for it, Romney didn't sign it.
4. Romneycare is one governor making a choice (which his State wanted). Obamacare is 50 governors not having a choice at all. Big difference.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

*which the country wanted
pnorth12Jan 23, 2012
Item 1: "Yes, Romney signed Romneycare"
Item 3: "Romney didn't vote for it, Romney didn't sign it."
Soooo, which was it, or were you siting a perfect example of hipocricy, or are you in fact Mitt Romney, or was it Obama that made you do it and the liberal left wing media.
Nice work buddy,
drich255Jan 23, 2012
Please read my post more carefully. Item 3 is referencing Obamacare. Romney did not write President Obama's Health Care bill. Romney did not vote on it. Romney did not sign it.

You can't tell a politician, any politician, to stop being a hypocrite.
Would you go a to a tree and say, "Stop being a tree."?
Politicians are only who they have to be for the demographic that supports them, whose views and opinions are ever changing. Such views the politician must agree with in order to maintain support. When a politician ceases to be a hypocrite, they cease to be a politician.

Nice of Gingrich to use his wife as his stepping stone to win over the whores in america that vote due to a political figures wife's looks! Let's see if the soddom class of America allows a cheating un-faithful husband to win over the election polls of this country. We have an unfaithful runner and a runner thats steals his views from people higher up in the system and a runner that wants to spew religious factors for their own viewpoints, sorry Santorum, but that's called discrimination , dumbasses!
lalongecarabineJan 23, 2012
But if they didn't have hypocrisy what would they all have?
barackalypseJan 23, 2012
Double standards and politically expedient changes of heart on the issues?
particleman420Jan 23, 2012
that sounds like what they have now
odkinJan 23, 2012
Never heard of her before, but apparently Nancy Giles is the very model of the "elite media" partisan that Gingrich was referring to.
Attention operatives of the Democrat-Media Complex: Americans are NOT going to take your leftist propaganda any more! You control every microphone except on one cable TV station and some AM radio programs. We know what you are. Stop being JOURNALISTS and start being REPORTERS... you know, the kind who deal in facts and not in left-skewed "narratives".Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

it's funny that you're a real person and not some caricature joke account trolling for laughs
odkinJan 24, 2012
Not as funny as you believing that the Digg liberal circle jerk represents actual public opinion. I'm sure Digg is a welcome reprieve to the scorn and disdain your stupidity receives every day in real life.
countess666Jan 23, 2012
switching between the BBC world service and most cable TV stations the differences aren't usually that pronounced... with 1 exception.
odkinJan 24, 2012
Yes, they are all uniformly leftist, aren't they? Thank goodness there's that ONE CHANNEL that dares to think differently. Too bad liberals like you really want to silence it. Truth and disagreement are REALLY disturbing to your utopian fantasies.
norman619Jan 23, 2012
So you are in denial of Gingrich's insanely hypocritical past?
odkinJan 24, 2012
Reagan was a long-time Democrat and union president. He became a Republican and fired illegal Air Traffic Controller strikers.
Was he a "hypocrite? Or are people allowed to change and react to changing realities over the decades?
yurmutha412Jan 23, 2012
I think someone in the media should at least understand what the word "hypocritical" means:
"Mitt Romney believes in free enterprise, but he is bashful when questioned about his quarter-billion dollar personal fortune and the business practices that created his wealth. He squirms about paying a tax rate lower than middle class families. And he's coy about whether he'll release years of tax returns. ("Maybe!")
Isn't THAT hypocritical? "
No, it isn't. What does it have to do with free enterprise, you're opening statement? To be hypocritical, he would need to be doing something against free enterprise like wanting a government bailout. That would be hypocritical to someone that believes in free enterprise. Some say he did take bailout money, but if you are going to use the word, then use it correctly.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

WOOT! She needs to moderate a debate. She wouldn't let any crap get through!!!
norman619Jan 23, 2012
Wrong. She works for a news outlet. They thrive on ratings and ad sales. She is grandstanding is all.
