GPS will be attached to the neck collars.
I can't imagine that these guys just went from Jekyll to Hyde with no warning. Just like the misogynist pricks in the US House and Senate, these State level uterophobes were not created in a lab and released just this past week. They have been this way for some time.
If there ever was a lesson to be learned about voting and involvement in the process, this surely is it.
Time to run them all out before they remove the 19th amendment and then go for mandatory chastity belts
anomaly100Feb 24, 2012
Sure, why not!

Does it have a lock?
anomaly100Feb 24, 2012
Of course. The men keep the key.
cosmicsurferFeb 24, 2012
And hidden explosives set to blow up if we try and remove it?
anomaly100Feb 24, 2012
No but the key is rusty. So, either way we're doomed. (Doomed vaginas, who knew this would happen?)
GentlemanGhost542Feb 24, 2012
sort of reminds me of what was used in Robin Hood Men in Tights.
except they would take it to a whole new level

Doomed Vaginas - sounds like a bad Punk band
nickchopperFeb 24, 2012
@GentlemanGhost542 That's what I was thinking. The closing scene.

@Anomaly - I cannot live in a world of doomed vaginas.

WTF is it with conservative politicians and their attacks on women?
davidnivenFeb 24, 2012
WTF is it with Digg liberals and their attacks on the truth? This article is full of crap and YOU believe it.
countess666Feb 24, 2012
attack on the truth?
you deny that in the first law that got passed they would have woman who were raped, raped again with a plastic rod for the sole purpose of causing further humiliation?
and if they are willing to do that, they are despicable enough to be capable of doing ANYTHING.
geogeerFeb 24, 2012
Yeah it isn't like anything more invasive is inserted into the woman during an abortion.

Wow, the fact that women have to right to tell you what gets put inside them really bothers you doesn't it?
Their vagina, their choice.
geogeerFeb 24, 2012
The point is that it is a standard part of the procedure anyway. If you want the procedure there are certain standards that have to be met. If you don't want the procedure that's fine too.
When I had surgery, I HAD to go for certain diagnostic imaging. They would not have proceeded without it. The doctor took those images and described in detail what the affected area was and what he was going to do. It is called informed consent, but I guess you figure women don't deserve that.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
dauntless1Feb 24, 2012
@geogeer
"The point is that it is a standard part of the procedure anyway."
Then you're in favor of unnecessary legislation. If this is already part of the procedure then every moment spent on it is wasted taxpayer dollars, and any laws are idiotic at best.
Which is it? Unnecessary, idiotic or not anyone else's f**king choice? It's one of the above.
geogeerFeb 25, 2012
It isn't unnecessary legislation because at the moment they aren't required to give the woman the option of viewing the results of the diagnostic procedure. This is codifying best practice for this procedure.
All this is doing is establishing a minimum level of care and informed consent. The question is why are you against women having the right to full informed consent.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
angelofchaos99Feb 25, 2012
Actually, nothing needs to be placed into a woman's vagina if she has a medical abortion. Pills go in the mouth.

Hmmm... seems that an ultrasound is standard procedure.

oh great Pa. the 'out of money' state where politicans cover their license plates so they can't be IDed driving into their taxpayer paid resorts.. and Alabama the state that keeps slavery alive forever

BartMFeb 24, 2012
Planned Parenthood of Virginia already does this ultrasound procedure. So are they "raping" also?
treehugger87Feb 24, 2012
There are many medical reasons why a transvaginal ultrasound might be performed. Transvaginal ultrasounds are a necessary medical service for many reasons. It's only rape if there is no medical reason for performing a transvaginal ultrasound
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003779.htm
Transvaginal ultrasound may be done for the following problems:
Abnormal findings on a physical exam, such as cysts, fibroid tumors, or other growths
Abnormal vaginal bleeding and menstrual problems
Certain types of infertility
Ectopic pregnancy
Pelvic pain
Transvaginal ultrasound is also used during pregnancy to:
Evaluate cases of threatened miscarriage
Listen to the unborn baby's heartbeat
Look at the placenta
Look for the cause of bleeding
Monitor the growth of the embryo or fetus early in the prgnancy
See if the cervix is changing or opening up when labor is starting early
BartMFeb 24, 2012
You don't seem to understand that if you go to Planned Parenthood to have an abortion then they also require that this ultrasound be done. As will any legitimate abortion provider. This is standard procedure.
So the proposed Virginia law will be nothing that isn't already being done.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
treehugger87Feb 24, 2012
You don't seem to understand what medically necessary means. Nobody is denying that an abortion is an invasive process. The issue is that there is no medical reason for the transvaginal ultrasound being mandated by the state of Virginia.
Also, Planned Parenthood, as a private organization, has every right to require anything they want within reason. PP require women to bring their parents with them if they wanted to. But a mandate from the state that your parents must be with you is a totally different thing.
BartMFeb 24, 2012
So you acknowledge that Planned Parenthood is already "raping" women with this ultrasound and your only problem is with the state mandate?
So then I guess you also oppose a mandate that religious institutions provide contraceptives?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
angelofchaos99Feb 25, 2012
Rape occurs when there is lack of consent. If a woman does not consent to intravaginal ultrasound at Planned Parenthood, she may go to a place where it is not routinely performed and receive an abortion.
If this is not possible, then the woman has lost the ability to decline consent and it has become rape.
treehugger87Feb 24, 2012
You clearly don't understand what medically necessary means.
Nobody was asking religious institutions to provide contraceptives. That was never the mandate, nor would it ever be.
penglustFeb 24, 2012
So what? There is a big difference between a doctor requiring an ultrasound in order to effectively do his job and some right wing weenie requiring it because he wants to humiliate the girl/woman.
