"Corporations are people my friend" -Mitt Romney. Apparently people in wheelchairs aren't worthy of the same respect Mr Romney would allow to a faceless corporate entity.
pyababaJan 16, 2012
A corporation is a person by law. When you create a corporation it becomes an artificial person. Which is why if the Ceo of a company messes up on something, people sue the company not the people behind it. :-DComment is buried, click here to see the rest.
ben7337Jan 16, 2012
A corporation is not a person, it is a conglomeration of people and one is only allowed to sue it due to the fact that it is a conglomeration and no one person is necessarily responsible for things that it does. That is not to say that one person cannot be directly responsible. However a corporation is an entity just like the government, both can be sued, but neither one should be considered a person? Or do you consider all levels of government individual people as well, because your logic seems to imply that.
spatula7Jan 16, 2012
Sorry, you can't always sue a corporation, especially those related to your finances, it goes into arbitration run by an organization funded by, drum roll please, the financial organizations you're trying to sue...so you're wrong...not to mention the elephant in the room, the high cost of litigation keeps justice out of reach for the individual...keep playing, try again.
vitriolandangstJan 16, 2012
If only this guy had incorporated so that Mitt could treat him like a person...
cowicideJan 16, 2012
Mittens is a sick person.
ganjadude4391Jan 16, 2012
Thjis is just one of many many reasons I could never vote for this man
colincochranJan 16, 2012
He is a true piece of s**t. Synthetic marijuana is sold by pharmaceutical companies, that's what he represents. Has nothing to do with right or wrong, has everything to do with greed.

A couple of hits of a vaporizer = using you thumb to push in a tack.
A single Marinol pill = using a twenty pound sledgehammer on the same tack.
angrycat70Jan 16, 2012
Romney needs to be hit.
We need him as president like we need cancer.
dissidentJan 16, 2012
not voting for this assh**e. Ron Paul or Obama, those are the choices.
norman619Jan 16, 2012
That's fine. Many more will.
letsgetreal50Jan 16, 2012
Not that many. Fundamentalist Christians will not vote for the Mormon anti-Christ,
Watch the S.C. Christians go to Sick Santorum in this primary.
Not saying Romney will loose but just watch how many will not vote for a Mormon.
ganjadude4391Jan 16, 2012
well..ron paul anyway
cyberprunesJan 16, 2012
The guy has 0 empathy.. That's a troubling quality.
letsgetreal50Jan 16, 2012
He's a Republican. They all have 0 empathy except when they fake it for votes.

"Have you tried synthetic marijuana?"
Translation: "I will not allow natural medicine that anyone can grow in your backyard to be legal. It must be made by BigPharma so I can receive my kickbacks in the form of campaign contributions."
08novaJan 16, 2012
I hate him, okay so he's against it but he can at least be a decent guy and not be a d**kh**d to the sick man.
vitriolandangstJan 16, 2012
Romney shouldn't have to deal with this sort of ambush!
No pro-war candidate should get a question from an injured soldier.
Nobody promoting low tariffs should have to answer to a manufacturing worker losing a job.
No tough on crime, keep drugs illegal politico needs to talk to someone who's family member is serving 20 years for a bag of pot.
... people who make decisions that harm others, shouldn't have to lose sleep, or ruin their digestion by having a starving family show up outside the window of their favorite bistro. Thank God that after this campaign, Mitt will get to go back within the protective cocoon of like-thinking rich people at his country club, and dine at some decent restaurant that is at the top of a hotel.

whitenoisebleedJan 16, 2012
the "sintetic marijuana" line is the key. you should buy from big pharma not from an organic hippie.
xpsiterJan 16, 2012
I guess Willard didn't feel the guy would be around long enough to vote for him, so he bounced. Pathetic.
theghoulJan 16, 2012
Thanks for caring about Americans, Romney.

some peoples religion tells them a lot of people are not "worthy" of heaven anyway.
The only empathy that can be given to your religions' heathens, is cut off medical treatment so they suffer less, die faster. Like you shoot a horse with a broken leg.

If the republicans get their way a very sizable minority will be thrown in prison. They will have to arrest all the marijuana users and their supporters and they will have to arrest anyone who aids an illegal immigrant even if that illegal immigrant is a small child. They will divide this country like it was just before the civil war. I hope that Michigan will vote on an amendment to its constitution this November that will legalize marijuana. Until than Michigan's attorney general and my district's congressman will do everything in their power to suppress marijuana.
motozeroJan 16, 2012
That is a perfect example of how the real world works... lovely isn't kids. I wonder how Obama or any politician would answer that question.... my guess is similar, with no regard to actually think of what marijuana is,, because that doesn't matter.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Sigh...another video from YEARS ago.
diggumsmack83Jan 16, 2012
whether it was from years ago or 10 minutes ago doesn't matter, he hasn't changed his opinion on MMJ. This video shows that he's not only a greedy idiot, he's also a d**k h**d to the average citizen.
opinions about MMJ could be swayed with enough information, but once an assh**e always an assh**e.
jerroldsJan 16, 2012
2007...its not like it was filmed in 1912. The issue is still relevant.

Drugs are bad mkay. That was just cold hearted.

Please help to spread this message... can someone make some shirts?
damndjJan 16, 2012
Who's the first idiot to cry about the "Gotcha Media"?
luke1h7Jan 16, 2012
Pretty messed up video but I think it does unfairly target Romney. I'd bet most politicians would do this, because that's how the game works (obviously a problem).
What I have trouble wrapping my mind around is the fact that marijuana just isn't that bad. It's not crack. It's more akin to alcohol than a hardcore drug. And not only that, but we could make so much money off taxing weed. So much money.
Of course this money would help our entire country and not just people who own prisons or work for the government.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
damndjJan 16, 2012
It's even safer than alcohol. Hell, it's safer than aspirin.
letsgetreal50Jan 16, 2012
And good for you. It just may repair brain cells that are destroyed by alcohol.
Marijuana might cause new cell growth in the brain

norman619Jan 16, 2012
Mitt should have laid his hands upon him and healed him. Right?
luke1h7Jan 16, 2012
Yes Norman. People are upset because he should have faith healed him. Too bad this is a video of Mitt Romney and not Rick Perry, otherwise that may have happened!
PS. I hope you get hit by a bus today Norman. I am spiteful!
The_SovereignJan 16, 2012
No, that's impossible. There is no such thing as faith healing or God or any similar superstitious nonsense.
letsgetreal50Jan 16, 2012
I don't believe Mormons do that, do they?
amuricanJan 16, 2012
First off it's "dying" not "dieing". Please learn to spell. Secondly, politics aside, this is only a "hit-piece" on Romney.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
narrowgateJan 16, 2012
LOL! I had to read that headline twice. I thought it was dieting.
mbst2000Jan 16, 2012
Explain how it's a hit piece? He's confronted with a question, and instead of being a man about it, he doesn't acknowledge what the man says, and simply will not hear his argument.
He could have said - "I understand your concern, I have issues with Marijuana that extend beyond its medicinal benefits. That makes it difficult for me because you're trying to strike a balance between helping those in need, and possibly causing harm to others. However if your medical team says that it's the right thing for you, then I think it's a conversation we need to have, and I'd be delighted to talk to them and you further about this. Give my aide your details and I promise we'll talk about it at a later stage when we can give it time. Good luck with your treatment, and I can assure you that I do not think you're a criminal, you're simply trying to treat yourself in the best way you can, thanks for talking to me."
There we go, respectful and decent, instead it's all fake smiles and bulls**t, Romney is just a vote-robot.
cyberprunesJan 16, 2012
Yes, its a hit piece in the sense that you get a guy in a wheelchair to ask a tough question in an attempt to get Romney to explain his position.
Which he didn't. He only showed his lack of empathy. This may be a profitable quality as a corporate raider but as a Presidential candidate...mmm not so much.
vitriolandangstJan 16, 2012
It's always a "hit piece" when a Republican leader is forced to talk to a constituent who is going to suffer from his policy decisions.
Now, if the manufacturers of the wheel chairs were at the town hall, that would be considered a discussion.
americanblarneyJan 16, 2012
I see everyone is quick to judge this morning. What half intelligent political candidate would answer that trap question? If the guy had asked "would you support medical marijuana in a case such as mine" it would have been a perfectly fair question, but when you phrase it more or less as "take a stance that you and most of the country oppose or say you'll imprison a severely ill person," I don't blame Romney for choosing option C and removing himself from the situation. Not to mention that at any of these events, you have no way of even knowing whether the statements the person is making are even true or carefully crafted to try to force you into a slip-up.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
kaegroJan 16, 2012
I like how you tried to defend a cold hearted bastard. "So pot is the only thing that can help you? Well that's too bad because I don't like the stuff. Now hurry and die." That's what Mitt said in a NUT SHELL.
americanblarneyJan 16, 2012
It's the way the question was asked, not the content of the question that makes it an obvious trap question - could Romney have possibly said "let's talk about your specific case privately", perhaps, but it's not always easy to be that quick on your feet. I also think it's worth asking again, how do you know that the gentleman's claims that marijuana was the only answer to his problems were true? If he was really just a guy looking for some empathy and reasonable consideration of his position, why use such confrontational language to pose the question?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
kaegroJan 16, 2012
I see "blame the victim" is alive and well.
diggumsmack83Jan 16, 2012
because if you come up and sheepishly ask a politician something, they'll ignore you. Raising your voice and having an attitude will get you noticed.
letsgetreal50Jan 16, 2012
Whatever it takes.
Mitt showed us, as he has many times in the past, that he cannot connect with people, human beings. He is so far removed from people that he cannot represent people.
That's the reason for his flip flops. He represents no one but Wall Street and the1%.
If anyone thinks differently, well, I pity you.
letsgetreal50Jan 16, 2012
All Mitt needed to be is 'human' with a little empathy. He failed. Mitt is a Mormon Robot. Boring!
