He can't have his cake and eat it too. There is only one direction towards legalization and that is to tax and regulate it. Even the medical use of it.
There will never be pure unbridled legalization of weed. This is a step in the right direction not a step back.

well stated. dugg for making a rational and very eloquent argument.

i agree except with the last part. i think there will eventually be a time when it is just outright legal. I just dont think that time is soon. we've first got to get at least 2/3 of the states with the medical laws, then some years to show that society didnt collapse because weed is less than illegal, and eventually people will realize 'why not?'

Agreed, but we need to take baby steps. Shoving the issue down the throats of voters is always a bad idea.
particleman420Feb 7, 2012
no one is shoving anything. each state is slowly going about the process of somewhat legalizing it, making resistance to it less and less as time passes. Once the benefits of legalization are realizes and provable (if they ever are) then the opposition will be even less.

No one ever accused potheads of being logical or intelligent
isaac7719Feb 7, 2012
Carl Sagan, a personal hero of mine, is a self-described "pothead" who is wildly intelligent and outstandingly logical.
Your criticisms are baseless and false.

Why tax it? What the hell does the government have to do with MMJ? Makes absolutely no sense to me. They might as well tax oxygen with this line of reasoning. Government already overtaxes us. Why would we offer to give them more???

Here we go!
madtechnologistFeb 7, 2012
Why does everyone always need the feds to wipe our asses? When looking at how people in power attempt to control, why do we want to empower them to "regulate or control" what we know they have no business controlling? It's like all you people are so much in favor of giving up your liberties for some sense that the government is going to look after your best interest, protect you, and make decisions based on your well-being....what a bunch of clueless, naive saps.

But the media can sure as f**k advertise it in movies, shows and every where else, but u just can't use it? Fuking lame, i sure don't feel like picking up a cigarette or drinking some s**tty tasting alcohol, and i dont feel like popping pills to relax, so whats the big f**king deal if io want to smoke a joint to relax after a hard days work rather than feeling like the world is abusing me and i want to destroy it! i would think wanting to relax than destroy everything would be logical, but apparently not from a murdering military standpoint, huh? Whatever go be murderers and stressed out freaks then, sorry i just wanted to f**king relax for once, bitches!

The media advertises murder, that doesn't make it ok.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Comparing marijuana to murder now?
What is it specifically about this drug that you don't like so much?
Is it the fact that the drug has been clinically shown to be safer, both psychologically and physically, than virtually every other drug on the market?
Is it the fact that legalization of this drug would take money away from big pharmaceutical companies?
Honestly, what reason could you possibly have?
FPSmotoFeb 7, 2012
The media doesn't use it. They use fake weed, although I'm sure they could just be lying and saying it's fake. Anyway, the fact that it's in movies and shows today means there is not only growing acceptance of this beautiful plant, but also excellent exposure.
