I never knew the Prison builders are big supporters of prohibition.
He is a smart guy.
sabz5150Feb 28, 2011
Well, what do you fill prisons with? Those two dots aren't hard to connect.
BluntzworthFeb 28, 2011
The PIC - Prison Industrial Complex, is very much alive and thriving in America.
themanbrian07Feb 28, 2011
Probation = Not in prison
dwhsFeb 28, 2011
you didn't know prisons are businesses?
darkwater37Feb 27, 2011
I liked the part where the Judge said that Holland solved the marijuana problem by making it boring instead of making it illegal and that over there there are only half the number of users than we have here in the US. By making it illegal, we encourage people to use it and causes a multitude of problems socially by doing so.
jibbityjabFeb 28, 2011
Yeah. This is an old video but I still dugg it because it's better than the most of the links that make it to the front page.
sonicgardenFeb 27, 2011
America, the land of the free; unless you are a drug user or minority.
scamper22Feb 27, 2011
ah big government... is there anything it can't make worse for society.
police, lawyers, prison guards... all government thugs.
And people are actually cheering these thugs in Wisconsin.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Obvious troll is boring.

Here's another one of his that I liked. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/11/08/national/main5578613.shtml
The pro-prohibition guy just can't make a straight argument and stick with it.
neotechniFeb 27, 2011
1) Loved-ones of those who would have abused drugs.

I support drug prohibition only because lifting the ban might cause teabaggers to only get high off quality weed and thus mellow out .. so reducing my entertainment.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

id rather keep entertainment separate from politics
rowencowenFeb 27, 2011
If only all of our leaders could be as calm and rational as this guy. He looks at the problem (drug abuse), determines the cause (The fact that it's illegal), determines the solution (Make it legal), and looks at the consequences (less funding for criminials, less abuse, less child use, and more revenue for the government)
darkwater37Feb 28, 2011
To those that started and supported the prohibition of drugs, you have heard the road to ruin is paved with good intentions? Their intentions might have been good in their eyes but it ruined a lot of people.
jibbityjabFeb 28, 2011
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good, will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis

explain. give me one state or country that has reformed drug laws that saw a negative effect from it
linuxpersonFeb 28, 2011
When you consider enhanced liberty a bad thing, you can find plenty of examples of what you just mentioned.
sniperhareFeb 28, 2011
I just can't see the good in letting anyone who wants it the ability to buy weed.
jibbityjabFeb 28, 2011
How does the fact that you "can't see the good" justify aggression against others?

rowencowenFeb 28, 2011
Perhaps you didn't watch the video. If weed is legalized then fewer people will buy it. Also right now anybody can buy it. It's easier for a teenager to get weed then alcohol. At least if the stuff was legalized we could keep it out of the hands of kids.
skews13Feb 28, 2011
There's a special place in hell for prohibitionists. And a reserved spot at the top of the assassination list for these particular ones.
nolagrlFeb 28, 2011
Just think how tiny the deficit would be if we shut down 90% of the DEA and CIA. We'd be the richest people on earth.
sabz5150Feb 28, 2011
Too many hands in too many cookie jars for that.
The DEA needs to be DISBANDED and all of their activities audited and made public.

the cartels and politicians who are in on the drug scam, and the CIA will never allow it.
copssaylegalizeFeb 28, 2011
Find out why more and more cops, judges, and prosecutors who have fought on the front lines of the "war on drugs" are standing up and saying we need to legalize and regulate all drugs to help solve our economic, crime, and public health problems: http://www.facebook.com/CopsSayLegalizeDrugs

It's the 21st century, why do we still have prohibition?
bobo420Feb 28, 2011
prohibition never works... too bad that we all have to pay for this enormous failure. War on drugs doesn't wok
