Stop call collect. I don't care if you use 1-800 COLLECT
thoughtsonthisDec 30, 2010
Not very nice to do that.
bukowskyDec 30, 2010
That's just disrespectful. If you don't want to hear what he has to say, at least be a man and pick up the phone and tell him to f**k off.
goweigusDec 30, 2010
If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all?
Didn't you ever listen to your mother?
norman619Dec 31, 2010
The requires you to care enough to tell him to f**k off.
whiteravenDec 31, 2010
I think it's more disrespectful... or to be more precise, absurdly arrogant... to make the stupid phone call in the first place. What the hell did Obama think he was going to accomplish?
fx666Dec 31, 2010
How dare you doubt Obama the Most Distinguished Diplomat! He can do anything, even make a dictator go away. He deserves to be worshiped by his followers, not ridiculed by critics like you. Recently I saw a group of Obama followers kneeling before his golden statue. Hale Caesar! (I mean Obama)
chrisvazquez1Dec 31, 2010
So you're saying that the president of the United States, a member of the U.N., whom has the responsibility to stop things like this from happening can't make a peaceful phone call to another leader to prevent from going to war? As a member of the U.N., if they need troops there, Americans are going in. I for one prefer a diplomatic relationship than one that might require more bloodshed of our people. It's not arrogant, it's smart, and peaceful.
Isolationism hasn't worked before, it will never work.
whiteravenJan 1, 2011
I did not say "can't". I said it is arrogant is disrespectful and when you come right down to it, *STUPID*.
I asked a question in my post... why don't you answer it? What could this phone call have possibly accomplished?
The president making a phone call is not a "diplomatic relationship", it is a childish thing to do. Diplomacy is already under way. There is absolutely no reason for America to get involved.
If we send troops in, the decision to do so will take place in the largely open forum on the UN. Additionally, Gbagbo is amply aware of the worlds opinion of him.
So, did Obama think that being the fiftieth person to ask him to step down was going to be the lucky number? Is he simply a miracle worker that can do what none of the *hundreds* of diplomats already working on the issue can't? It would make sense to call the legitimate winner of the election to find out exactly what he thought needed to be done. Calling the bad guy just makes no sense.
But it's no surprise... Obama is nothing if not a man of form a billion light years ahead of function. It has be come more and more clear as the months and years pass by that Obama is simply clueless about pretty much everything outside oratory.
All the African leaders and their diplomats and the diplomats for Europe not doubt greeted news of Obama's bonehead move with rolled eyes and snickers. He needs to grow the f**k up and use his head for something other than a hat rack.

Rude? Why? And how is it "ballsy" to refuse to listen to some other world leader try to tell you what to do? What is the Us going to do? Invade?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Oh come on. It's not a huge scandal. He wants to remain leader even though he didn't win. He's not going to take a call from Obama.
sevenvtDec 31, 2010
If he wants to give the image of legitimacy, he would want to speak with other nations and their leaders. Israel has tried for years to get some governments to even identify them as a country, some still won't normalize relations with them. When you want to be legitimate, you want people to talk to you, you want to get your family on a travel ban... well then you ignore calls. ;)
I dugg you back up to +1 fyi

I know that. But Obama's going to say, "Dude...you lost."
He knows this. He's not going to take a call.

' Barack Obama ? Kunta , I told you to tell these Nigerians that am busy! The last caller I had claimed to be the King of Zamunda offering me 20 million ! . '
tempsterDec 31, 2010
Ivory Coast's president that didn't win but won't step down is supported by the Christians in the south of the country. The person who won is a Muslim and he is supported by the people in the north of the country and by the United Nations, United States, ECOWAS, the African Union, etc. Apparently he's been running death squads that are killing his political opponents and hundreds of Muslims. He's also stopping the UN from investigation this issue. I'm sure if the situation had been reversed we'd see the typical Islam hate-mongers on Digg coming out by the dozens so wouldn't it be fair for Christians to get the same treatment in this situations? Or are we to assume that Christians are better people than Muslims?
theunlearnDec 31, 2010
Are you really trying to pretend that the majority of Americans know anything about this situation and have any stance on it whatsoever?
theunlearnDec 31, 2010
After rereading your post, I realize I misunderstood you. Just goes to show how ethnocentric us Americans are, I guess.
hipmanDec 31, 2010
Oh shutup.Figures some hack would find a way to politicize this.

It's starting, the nation's of the world are starting to see Obama for the election stealer he really is. Soon enough nobody will talk to him and he'll get the boot.

It was a joke when people were accusing Bush of being an election stealer and it's a joke now as well. If you didn't want the man to win that's fine but making s**t up is stupid.
miklkitDec 31, 2010
It is no joke. You can deny that you republicons are criminals that stole our votes, but that is the truth.
"DELAND, Fla., Nov. 11 - Something very strange happened on election night to Deborah Tannenbaum, a Democratic Party official in Volusia
County. At 10 p.m., she called the county elections department and learned that Al Gore was leading George W. Bush 83,000 votes to 62,000. But when she checked the county's Web site for an update half an hour later, she found a startling development: Gore's count had dropped by 16,000 votes, while an obscure Socialist candidate had picked up 10,000--all because of a single precinct with only 600 voters."

"You can deny that you republicons are criminals that stole our votes, but that is the truth."
This is priceless. I love how people like you can only see things in either Republican or Democrat terms. As if people who disagree with you can't be anything but. Your thinking is so limited it's pathetic.

Butt hurt cause your side lost eh?
geroncoDec 31, 2010
What about a bomb on his presidential palace? I'm sure he would step down then, and if he needs a reminder, show him the pictures of saddam's sons burned to crap after their palace was bombed
whiteravenDec 31, 2010
What was Obama going to do, say "Come on, be a mench"?
gkiltzDec 31, 2010
In the long term, he's only hurting himself.
