weeklystandard.com — Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen how Obama-care threatens freedom of religion. We’ve been reminded of Eric Holder’s pathetic and ideological mismanagement of the Department of Justice. We’ve seen several instances of this president’s weakness in foreign policy. We’ve had reminders from the Congressional Budget Office of the looming entitlement and budget disaster and of the Obama administration’s gross irresponsibility on that front. So there’s plenty besides the economy for the GOP to call attention to, to shout about, to use to illustrate the short and long-term dang

Except for Hillary...
anomaly100Feb 5, 2012
OMFG, Obama is married to Hilary too? Wow. One would think he's a Mormon.
munionhunterFeb 5, 2012
Well he is a Muslim from that wonderful world of Kenya, he could be grooming for another wife.
anomaly100Feb 5, 2012
So, Romney might be from Kenya too. (I'm trying to use their 'logic')
u2canfailFeb 6, 2012
anom, you did use their so called "Logic" below. Well said.
skews13Feb 5, 2012
"We've been reminded"? "We've seen"? "We've had reminders"? "So there's plenty"? Well, that's the onething about fear and bulls**t, you can lay it on plenty thick. "We've have seen plenty of examples of that since Obama's election havn't we"?
elliotysFeb 5, 2012
I like how, when talking about the "dangers" of the Obama administration, the only references they give are from editorials from their own right wing paper. Talking about self fulfilling prophecies.
u2canfailFeb 6, 2012
Who else would have a list of dangers? It is the group's ONLY QUOTES available on the topic.
kasha34Feb 6, 2012
You didn't know about Fast 'n Furious?

There are valid issues that the GOP could exploit against Obama, but I don't think these GOP nominees are smart enough to know the difference between pandering and valid issues. And then there is the issue of credibility - if you wage a negative only campaign, you still have to convince voters, that you would be a better alternative.
blinker1315Feb 5, 2012Submitter
Oh, I think Romney (and his team) is plenty smart. But like Kerry, he has no ability to go for the jugular and make a case that's very critical but not obnoxious. Obama's a brilliant campaigner, far better at that than being president, which he doesn't seem to care for.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
assassyn360Feb 5, 2012
Really, you think Romney is smart. I guess you think trump is a f**king genius then. Or Sarah Palin Should teach at Harvard.
Magical you are to be so bold.
razorsfuryFeb 5, 2012
Not to defend Romney but he earned a degree from Harvard law... can you say that?
eraptorFeb 5, 2012
So did Jeff Skilling (former Enron CEO) and several other white collar criminals. What's your point?
Harvard business/law degrees are worthless when they're held by morally/ethically challenged business people, like Mitt Romney.
razorsfuryFeb 5, 2012
The point is this person isn't some stupid knuckle head off the streets.
"Harvard business/law degrees are worthless when they're held by morally/ethically challenged business people, like Mitt Romney."
Apparently that business/law degree isn't that worthless since he's worth more than $55 million.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

@razorsfury,
Neither was Jeff Skilling, who was ALSO a Harvard Business School graduate.
"Apparently that business/law degree isn't that worthless since he's worth more than $55 million."
Do you think your sentiments are shared by the people, businesses and communities who were devastated by Mitt's/Bain Capital's irresponsible business practices? Hardly!
He/they sucked the economic life out of ALL of them. Try to stop looking at life through a microeconomic prism (i.e., narcississm/greed), if you can. It ALWAYS leads to poor judgment and business decisions.
u2canfailFeb 6, 2012
And like Romney he earned millions, and could have earned much more, (he owned the regulators), but was so greedy, Skillings could not quit until he bankrupted the tower of babble he was so good at creating.
razorsfuryFeb 6, 2012
If you are trying to pick a fight with me about mitt romney you are knockin on the wrong door. I could give a f**k about romney. Just pointing out that if people are going to make arguments about people at least do more than a "he's dumb" argument.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

George W. Bush also earned a degree from the Harvard Business school....and he damn near ran our entire national economy off a cliff.

david_nivenFeb 5, 2012
This is literally a call for an extreme exodus from reality. It's like they're honestly saying that the world won't take our made-up bulls**t seriously unless we completely leave reality and believe in it.
All I can say is reality is pretty crowded right now, let me hold the door for you on your way out.
16x9Feb 5, 2012
"david_niven" Brilliant! LOL!
davidnivenFeb 5, 2012
Consider yourself reported for impersonation.
mlw4428Feb 5, 2012
Is his "impersonation" any different than you DPs and your multiple shell accounts? How about when you people planned out creating many of them only to not use them for months so you would avoid "suspicions"?
"You may not (i) select or use as a Digg User ID a name of another person with the intent to impersonate that person; (ii) use as a Digg User ID a name subject to any rights of a person other than you without appropriate authorization; or (iii) use as a Digg User ID a name that is otherwise offensive, vulgar or obscene."
He's not using your name. He's using david_niven and as a point of argument: you're probably not the ONLY david niven in the world.
As for the avatar, I sincerely doubt you're the person portrayed in that picture and you don't own rights to that picture. You also don't own rights to your name, it is not trademarked.
Furthermore he is not impersonating you. He doesn't act like you and in fact is a polar opposite of you. Even in the worse case scenario he is a parody which is protected underneath copyright law...which I suspect is more of the focus of that particular part of the ToS (i.e. they don't want someone named "Nike" or "McDonalds_Inc" coming in and acting as an official representative of those companies.
Put simply: You DPs do far worse...if you can dish out s**t you can take s**t.
davidnivenFeb 5, 2012
I have only ONE account, David Niven. Period. Ask a Digg moderator to check my IP address if you don't believe me.
mlw4428Feb 6, 2012
A few things:
1) I couldn't help but notice you didn't address ANY of the other arguments aside from the multi-account one.
2) You can attempt to lie for yourself, but you cannot lie for your DP brethren.
3) IP addresses are NOT indicative of a single account. Most users have dynamic IP addresses (they change) and are actually able to force a new IP address change fairly easily. I tend to look more at typing patterns, word usage, and grammatical usage to get an idea if a user is someone else (but these are always falsifiable). Generally those who demand an IP check are usually the ones with something to hide.
davidnivenFeb 6, 2012
OK. Then ask the Digg moderators to find out the location of the ISP server that I use. It's pretty easy. Compare that to any suspected duplicate accounts.
Unless you think that I have the skills and technology to make it look like I'm surfing the internet from Moscow or something.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
mlw4428Feb 6, 2012
1) It's called a proxy and any moron can use it. IP Addresses are NOT good enough.
2) Your "ISP location" serves thousands of users.
3) I saw your DP discussions on using proxies and s**t to hide your real IP addresses.
DavidNiven_Feb 5, 2012
Good luck with that.

As in : "Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen how Obama-care threatens freedom of religion (see Jonathan V. Last’s piece in this issue) hakahkahkahkah."
Or: "We’ve been reminded of Eric Holder’s pathetic and ideological mismanagement of the Department of Justice (see Mark Hemingway’s editorial) hakahkahkahkah."

u2canfailFeb 6, 2012
Romney has experience doesn't he? His record at BAIN: Outsource or end all good paying jobs, keep and grow minimum wage jobs, then have them pay more in income taxes.
ericschc1Feb 5, 2012
All this is, is a call to the right to change the attack point and abandon the economy & job growth as key issued because even the nation's more obtuse undecided voters are being exposed to the facts that both of those things have actually grown for several consistent quarters now.
drunkclamFeb 5, 2012
Buried for lame conservative propaganda. We're not going back to the Bush years.
u2canfailFeb 6, 2012
Did they even mention "the danger" of a second BUSH administration?
kasha34Feb 6, 2012
Bush years were pretty good economically until the bomb the Dems lit in the mid 90s finally exploded.
drunkclamFeb 6, 2012
You are a f**king delusional moron.
kasha34Feb 6, 2012
It's been my experience that lefty/lib/progressive/looters don't like to hear anyone disagreeing with them.
You gonna stamp your feet?
You gonna hold your breath?
It's still a fact:
Bush years were pretty good economically until the bomb the Dems lit in the mid 90s finally exploded.
PS - I am not a Bush fan. He spent too much and he coddled terrorist groups in the US -- CAIR for example.
But employment and the Dow were both high until the sub prime mortgage bomb lit by Clinton in the mid 90s, finally blew up.
You can go back to your temper tantrums now.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
drunkclamFeb 6, 2012
CAIR is not a terrorist group, god damn you are f**ked up. Get the hell off digg.
kasha34Feb 6, 2012
Of course they are. They're unindicted co conspirators in the Holy Land case. Raising money for Hamas.
If you raise money for terrorists, you're a terrorist.
"Wiretap evidence heard in the case put CAIR’s executive director, Nihad Awad, at a Philadelphia meeting of Hamas leaders secretly recorded by the FBI. Participants hatched a plot to deceive Americans and disguise payments to Hamas as it launched a campaign of terror attacks. CAIR co-founder Omar Ahmad joined Hamas big shots at the summit."
BTW, CAIR is a fake front anyway. As of 2006 there were only 1,700 members.
What a farce. But I guess you don't need that many members to collect money and pass it to the jihad.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

But it was still one man, one vote.
"The charges stemmed from confusion over where White lived when he campaigned for secretary of state" See?
CornermanFeb 7, 2012
Well ya did ask, I know from age that neither side is perfect and all we are are sand to most of them in power. I know it's just one person but it's still proof... And yes I see your point from your last post.
kasha34Feb 7, 2012
Thank you. I''m not saying Republicans don't do wrong things. I'm just saying this case is not what you or I would really think of as voter fraud.

In other words, "Oh F#$%, despite our efforts to destroy the economy and blame it on Obama, things might improve. We've banked the 2012 elections on the economy still sucking... better scramble for plan "B"... doesn't matter what, we can just make up some BS and wrap around social conservative issues to stoke the flames of Obama hate."

Did you know that it's clear now that the purpose of Fast 'n Furious was to create a gun control issue for the election?
Even CBS knows it:
"Documents obtained by CBS News show that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) discussed using their covert operation "Fast and Furious" to argue for controversial new rules about gun sales."
And, of course, it would work sooo much better if there were some bodies to point at. The ATF was hoping there would be some deaths, in other words.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

What a pathetic attempt to rewrite the facts! The GOP are still trying to scare people when it comes to health care reform or what they call Öbamacare.. Problem is, the facts don't bear them out. In November, the OECD released a report on health care and found that while the US spent 17.4% of its GDP on healthcare, EU countries spent between 7.0-12.0%, Canada 11.3%, Japan 8.5, Australia 8.7 and New Zealand 10.3%. All these countries have some version of public health care far stronger than the modest reformspassed in the US.When it comes to life expectancy, it stands at 28th of 34 countries(78.2 years). Only Turkey, Slovakia, Mexico, Hungary, Estonia and the Czech Republic are below the US.When it comes to Infant mortality, the US has a rate of 6.5 per 1000 births. Compare that to Iceland's 1.8, Canada's 5.1, Australia's 4.3 and EU countries rates ranging from 2.4-5.7 and the US has nothing to be proud of. Yet the GOP is defending the status quo? http://www.oecd.org/document/30/0,3746,en_2649_37407_12968734_1_1_1_37407,00.html

Whatever the GOP focus's on, Obama has done nothing for this country except raise the debt faster and more than any previous President and the only thing he has to show for it, is a bunch of his friends going into bankruptcy even though Obama gave them billions of our dollars to play with.
