freakoutnation.com — House Republican leaders pledged to run on an ethically sound platform when they took control last year. At least one dozen GOP lawmakers are being questioned on their financial dealings. House Speaker John Boehner has not publicly reprimanded them. With American voters targeting incumbents in an increasing fashion, the allegedly unethical House members are at great risk for losing their seats to Democrats.

The Republicans are plagued by more than ethics probes. They're plagued by a lack ofethics.
jpurdyFeb 2, 2012
Newt Gingrich, the first and only speaker of the house who was censured and fined for ethics violations, wants to be president, and people actually support him and still give him money.
He's certainly done well since he left office. Fannie Mac alone gave him $1.6 million, as an historian ?!

Boehner never mentions his own investments in that XM? pipeline deal to move canada shale sludge to texas to refine to gas to sell to china.
Any crude refined in america to gas should stay in America.
jhnthnFeb 3, 2012
the thing is, the quality of the gas would be less than what we currently use and would produce more pollution from use. thats why it would be exported.
kareemachanFeb 3, 2012
Citation?
jhnthnFeb 3, 2012
ever google? from wikipedia:
"...use emits 10 to 45% more greenhouse gases than conventional crude."
jhnthnFeb 3, 2012
it also produces 4x the amount of pollution to make it useable. which is why the canadian's want to have it refined outside there own country.
GentlemanGhost542Feb 1, 2012
it seems that the ethics probes follow the party leaders that are in Power in the House.
Though they very from time to time

Power corrupts?
GentlemanGhost542Feb 2, 2012
indeed.
especially when one abandons their ethics
drhex31Feb 3, 2012
and absolute power..............is pretty nice :)
martin92003Feb 2, 2012
Republicans = Out for themselves and their billion/millionaire friends of course they have ethics issues.
charlotte_webFeb 2, 2012
A probe is a political weapon; it's not necessarily indicative of any guilt. The Republicans launch probes against the Dems, and the Dems launch probes against the Republicans.
Wait for the results of any probe before writing your article.

The fact about Sessions, McKeon and Gallegly getting VIP mortgages from Countrywide are not in dispute. Buchanan has already been fined by the FEC.
And yes, I'll be fair, nothing has been proven with Rep Michael Grimm, but if even a fraction of what is being claimed is true, he will lucky to avoid prison time.
kareemachanFeb 3, 2012
Wow, you're talking out of the other side of your mouth on this one. First you're all about the investigation of PP on another thread, and now you're downplaying exactly the same thing.

It is becoming exceedingly difficult to be shady these days. Thanks to fast moving social media and lots of extremely interested individuals, when you've been walking in some dirty areas, you can bet someone is going to find your footprints; be they red or blue.

You're right. I have read in the past month of at least 3 cases of voter fraud by Democrats, so it looks like there is enough evil to go around for everyone.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Please provide valid references to Democrats' voter fraud. There are plenty about Republicans, and the Indiana case is considerably more serious than someone making an error on a registration form.

Good grief - typical quotes from sites listed -
atlasshrugged (the name obviously speaks for itself) - "More Obama voter fraud and skulduggery. The enemedia is an activist propaganda arm for this subversive, criminal party. If they did their job even badly, no one would self identify as a Democ rat." enemedia?!
canadafreepress (huh!?)- "Last week I wrote an article titled How Obama Used an Army of Thugs to Steal the 2008 Democratic Primary..."
truethevote is a site run by Kingstreet Patriot's leader, a flagrantly inflammatory extremist. From a recent article regarding the organization - "The King Street Patriots are a Texas Tea Party group with an anti-voter fraud spin off organization that is plotting a nationwide poll watching movement and advocates for voter ID laws. Matthew Vadum (one of their supporters) is a conservative columnist who thinks that registering poor people to vote is un-American and "like handing out burglary tools to criminals." "
No wonder conservatives are so disengaged from reality.

We have at least one thing in common, in that we don't trust each other's references. True, I didn't use the NYT or WaPo, but I had a short amount of time and took the easy way out and used a simple Google search (search: election fraud democrat) to provide just a few of the links that are available on the matter. Probably the most flagrant examples of recent voter fraud has been done by ACORN, who have had several of their operatives go to jail for their crimes. The problem with most of the liberal media is that they have slanted the facts to support liberals and have turned off a large part of our population because of it. That is why we have Talk Radio and FoxNews, which were created to fill the gap that was made by the absence of Fair and Balanced news reporting. Have a nice day.
jpurdyFeb 3, 2012
FoxNews "fair and balanced"?
Regarding Acorn, this is dated, but the most detailed and objective I could find quickly, mostly to satisfy my own curiousity. http://factcheck.org/2008/10/acorn-accusations/
I almost forgot the best part about Kingstreet Patriots. There have been numerous complaints to the DA's office about illegal interference with voters at polling places by Kingstreet "poll watchers". Some of them and/or their leaders may get to see the inside of the county jail.
Of course, they're only present to look out for Mexican buses loaded with voters, all named something like Joe Smith or Mary Jones.
regards, sir, I hope you have a nice day as well
kareemachanFeb 3, 2012
Couldn't find any in a major news source, huh? LOL
And you do know that ACORN was exonerated don't you?
Selective amnesia is a sad, sad, SAD thing.
realcoolguy9022Feb 2, 2012
I bet the Democrats are FAST AND FURIOUS over money donated to campaigns may not have gone through all the proper channels. Oh that's right, they sent guns over the border to drug cartels. Now they find someone who might not have had all his accounting perfect and received money 'improperly' for a campaign.

No one has ever said this is a one party issue here.
It's obvious that this is happening with whatever party controls the house and or Senate.
Nice Red Herring BTW
realcoolguy9022Feb 2, 2012
There are a lot of damned rules for campaigns and donations. Hell there are a lot of damned laws that I don't even know exist. The point is no one was actually hurt by this donation. Now if you could prove malice and willful ignorance maybe you have yourself a case for a slap on the wrist.
In the case of my supposed red herring you have people dead as a direct result of it, followed by an obvious coverup attempt and people taking the 5th.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Then again according to the article the Dems have 'even more ammunition' which is great, because I'm sure the cartels will need more ammo shipped over at the rate they're shooting people.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
