You don't win the seat if you have a half-assed liberal Democrat in the seat. You may win on the scoreboard, but by compromising like that you lose in the end.
See the last several elections the GOP got punished for not sticking to it's principles as evidence of this. RINOS are useless, and hurts the party far more than having to wait 2 years
