I think he believes he is a Christian. Its just that he somehow manages to persuade himself that whatever he wants is the Christian thing to do. His reasoning is rather like that of a spoiled child. I don't think he ever really had to grow up. I don't think the people he trusted and surrounded himself with helped.

Bush was a Christian like Sarah Palin is "a straight shooter." He never ONCE went to church while in Washington.
Also, he sold his "ranch" right after he left the Presidency. It was a damn prop for Texas and campaigning for people who fall for this nonsense. His "ranch" had no animals -- he was deathly afraid of them.
I mean, this guy was in College before he was ever in a Southern state.
The only thing that wasn't an act was his misremembering and lack of manners.

I am wondering if Bush is confusing German Chancellor Schroeder with former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien? Mr. Chretien DID say Canada would go to war with them IF they could prove Iraq was harboring terrorists and WMDs.
Since there wasn't ANY proof, we didn't go, and that is probably what Bush is referring too in his book.
