bigbert81Sep 15, 2011
Yes, the democrats LOVE abortion. In fact, I don't know what they'd do without it...hmmm...or maybe it's just the way you worded your statement.
Being pro-choice doesn't mean democrats 'love' killing babies.
bllasaeSep 15, 2011
Doesn't matter, there's no way they'd let a law pass that would get rid of abortion, but they love passing bills against the death penalty.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

u don't want abortion to be legal ~but i bet u would complain about paying taxes to take care of the millions of babies that would be born if it was illegal
breadfredSep 15, 2011
The death penalty does nothing for society. It costs more than sticking them in prison, which is also a waste of bloody money by the way but that is a different discussion.
However an abortion (termination of an unwanted pregnancy) stops an unwanted human being been brought up by a mum (and sometimes dad) that did not WANT a baby. They just wanted a f**k and their condom slipped.
Very Christian of you, by the way, wanting to kill fellow humans.

The original Tea Party, the one at Boston port several years before Lexington was a somewhat peaceful affair.. The people marching to set the chests of tea floating weren't interested in harming the ships that brought the corporate tea but making a statement that corporate influence would not dominate the fortunes and undermine the freedoms in this new land. Of course it wasn't new land to the people displaced but still it was an uprising against the forces of exploitation, the corporate hand.
Contrast that to the Earthly abomination that is the Tea Party today.. The one that takes money from Koch brothers massive oil enterprises and the pushers of wall street power.
The bankers and exploitation going on today in a cavalier enterprise system gone rogue.

Why let women have the right to abortion? You can instead:
- Legally force the babies to be born, let them grow up in a broken home, with parents trying to deal with their mistake
- Not allowing them to find jobs due to lack of job creation by the top bracket of billionaires and their corporations
- Force them to a life of financial despair and lead them to criminal activities
- Spend millions having them arrested and then executed!
So much more fun - and so much better for Republican campaigning!

- Allow heterosexual couples with in-tact marriages to adopt and raise unwanted children to be blessings to the world.

- Save millions by cultivating a culture of life and civility.

breadfredSep 15, 2011
barackalypse: I could agree with you were it not that private health care is more expensive than public healthcare. Health insurance is one of these areas where it is more financially viable to provide everyone with total healthcare than only a smaller proportion of the population. Indeed, if you have private healthcare you can get DECLINED after paying in for 20 years due to some kind of exclusion clause. So you pay more, get less cover, and are not even sure if you get the help you need when you actually require it.
I am happy to pay for my NHS cover.
JustSayNoPartySep 15, 2011
I agree with Ron Paul as a choice. I disagree with the way you frame this. If we see a system bankrupting millions and leaving millions uninsured, it's beyond an issue of 'being responsible for your own body'. It's an issue of getting the system itself under control.
cold0008Sep 15, 2011
Ron Paul is insane. He's a libertarian ideologue that doesn't recognize the complexities of reality. He has absolute faith in the free market and charity, and refuses to acknowledge its failings. Granted he is better than many of his opponents, but the dude is crazy.
barackalypseSep 15, 2011
Reality is only complicated when you inisist on tinkering with it. We started with a Government that did almost nothing and we became the richest nation on Earth before there was a central bank, and without an income tax, without Government health care or Government retirement plans (that all started coming into existence in 1913, we were the wealthiest nation on Earth by then).Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

cold0008Sep 15, 2011
if you honestly believe charities will pick up a hundred thousand dollar medical bill for cancer treatments, you are not living in this reality. The same goes for the gold standard not resulting in damaging deflation.
Taking any set of ideals to their logical extreme is crazy, be it libertarian or socialist.
vbdonSep 15, 2011
You miss the point. Hundred thousand dollar medical treatments are not in infinite supply. Giving one away to someone who could have but refused to pay for insurance denies it to someone who did sacrifice and buy insurance. Liberals can't seem to understand why it is unjust to take health care away from a child whose parents have paid for it, and give it to a freeloader who preferred to spend his life's income on sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
Better yet, Liberals think they can sell their ignorance as a campaign issue to gain votes from voters who pay for their health insurance and are watching their costs go up 40% because of the freeloaders that Obama is adding to the system.
No wonder Obama loses support every time he makes a speech. Now all liberals are following his lead.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
SpycrabingSep 15, 2011
Um, what about the people who were born into poverty (like me) and DON'T waste their money on sex and drugs etc etc? My father died when I was 10, and that left my mom with his debt, her college debt, his funeral costs, raising me and my brother, AND paying rent for the s**tty apartment we lived in. We had to go on Medicaid, and my mom didn't have health insurance for a while, and not because my mom is a "freeloader," but because the circumstances that were thrown our way. We can't afford not to have health care, because my mom has diabetes, and my brother has brain damage and could need care in the future. I'm guessing you were brought up in a family where none of what I mentioned was an issue.
Try paying bills, taxes, mortgage and a f**k load of other expenses and have someone try to take away the only safety net you have in case something happens. You would feel differently.
digadigaSep 15, 2011
You do not understand the conservative libertarian mindset. To the conservative libertarian it is your mom's fault for choosing to marry a weak specimen, therefore she should be saddled with his debt. Libertarians abhor the idea that it is societies responsibility to bail out others from their bad choices or circumstances. Personal responsibility is the cornerstone of everything in their minds.
I know several, including one who chose to live in Beaumont, then gladly accepted all that government $ when his house was destroyed by Hurricane Rita. Apparently personal responsibility is only for "those other people" to some.

How about we take health care away from a child whose parents 'don't have insurance'? After all, that child is most likely a 'freeloader'. Damn freeloading kids. I had no idea that people not having insurance were largely drug addicted sex maniacs. Thanks for the clarification.
By the way, costs have not been skyrocketing due to the Obama plan. Costs have been skyrocketing for a long time due to many other reasons.
Obama is evil blah blah liberals are all freeloaders blah blah. Too mindless for me.
yurmutha412Sep 15, 2011
This is basically the liberal form of the death camp argument. No one thinks clearly around death so it's easy to get people riled up, but we need to make decisions about when death and quality of life no longer intersect. Waiting more than a month for a coma victim doesn't make a lot of sense. The odds of survival get cut in half every day they stay in a coma. How many millions should we spend on one patient in a coma who doesn't have insurance and is therefore a ward of the state? How many poor children could we vaccinate for that millions of dollars that got spent on a person whose odds of survival were next to nil? Let's stop the rhetoric from both sides and make rational decisions about health care.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

yurmutha412Sep 15, 2011
We have nationalized health care for old people and it works like crap. It's costing us 500 billion per year on top of the taxes collected and annuities paid. Why would I want that for the rest of the population? It would completely bankrupt the country. We can bring down the cost of health care by using health savings accounts and tort reform, then people won't have to let their insurance expire because it will be affordable. That's the part the Democrats don't get. People go without it because it's not affordable.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
breadfredSep 16, 2011

It's not that. It's that no government should have the right to take a life away. If the person is stabbed in jail, that's social justice. An organization claiming lives is wrong, whether the person is a serial killer or not. A government should not have that right, considering they've murdered innocent people before.
Is it worth the risk of killing a possibly innocent person?
