It sounds like Obama and the RINOS are going to being plotting a smokescreen strategy.
janincoAug 8, 2010
That is exactly what they are doing.
enantiodromiaAug 9, 2010
I read somewhere only True Scotsmen will be allowed to vote in November.
absurdistAug 9, 2010
Don't you have a DP Bund meeting to attend, Janinco?
fuhgetabotitAug 9, 2010
Rino?
lol, is the right trash bringing that old thing back now? Going to cull and weed the last few rational members of the GOP out are we? Frankly I don't think there is anything but the massively church stupid social conservative teabagging extremists left in the GNOP, but if you can find someone with an IQ over 75 who is laying low, hiding out, keeping his membership card secret and their mouth closed, you numb nuts are the ones to fox em out and deal with them I am sure,
lol, go get em ;)
mnocketAug 8, 2010
Obama knows what is going to happen in November. It's better to start talking to Republican leadership now before the balance of power shifts.
fuhgetabotitAug 9, 2010
lol, really now, got a good handle on the foxlinguals and the news from breifart do we then?
I try not to underestimate the stupidity of the political right and how attractive its ignorance, lies and foxs**t is to the average right wing moron in this country, but I for one am still am waiting for something better then the war cry of "socialism, socialism, Obama boo" from the church stupid social conservative loudmouthed cowardly assh**es leading the GNOP or the non-flossing teabagging furmouths, that I can vote for.
PS, it can't include institutionalized religious bigotry if this Reagan Republican is going to vote for it. lol, ok make that is this 'Rino' is going to vote for it.
kamtsaAug 9, 2010
fuhgetabotit, it's time to take the medicine.

How does this troll still survive? o_O
seltaeb4Aug 9, 2010
No one's exactly sure what to do with him now that he's here, but once in a while we'll give him some free time onstage to wave his arms wildly, stare off into space blankly, then grunt and drool a bit for the audience's pleasure.
In other words, DavidNiven is our Trig Palin.

It's nice of Digg to hire a mentally-challenged person like DavidNiven.
blitz9200Aug 9, 2010
I can guarantee you that these type of comments are drawing in more users. I know I wouldn't go to this site as much if controversial comments weren't made here all the time by the likes of DavidNiven.
Digg probably won't do anything about them until it can be proven that a group does exist outside of the internet with the sole purpose of censoring anything pro Democrat (Rater than the massive amount of evidence that proves that they are gaming Digg by making dummy accounts pretending to be regular users).
If they were to stop gaming Digg after that article came out, it would only confirm that the public outrage was majorly fabricated. And since they've been doing this for a long time now, it's not going to happen, since it would have been a major waste of time and money. They're probably waiting to be banned in mass so they can play the censorship card, while of course ignoring their own hypocrisy as usual.
The way they present their comments, its like they have a masters in Fox Manipulation. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Fox helped run DP, especially for the use of the word "Patriot".

Talk about not being on time with your appointments, it was almost two years into the mission before McConnell went through the door to see Obama.

Barack Obama and Mitch McConnell's iPhone 4 commercial:
"Mitch-ie's ne-ver gonna smile, gonna smile again . . . "
fuhgetabotitAug 9, 2010
lol, now hold on with the down votes, I thought that was funny!
smacksawAug 9, 2010
I just saw McConnell saying that he won't support anything that isn't at least centre-right...so, either Obama is selling out or he's throwing down the gauntlet.
I can't believe a minority that refuses to participate in governance is going to potentially get their way.
jeepyAug 9, 2010
To be fair most of Obama's platform was center-right to begin with. People forget his campaign platform wasn't all that liberal in nature. From the get go he was against gay marriage, legalizing marijuana, and promised to re-commit troops to Afghanistan, all before he was even elected. I voted for him because he promised a draw down in Iraq and healthcare reform within a year (which proved to be impossible with the Republicans breaking filibuster all time records) so I kinda knew what to expect.
Not getting a public option was a pretty big letdown for me but I also understood that it wouldn't get passed the gridlock in the senate. So ultimately he never even promised to be liberal in office. Where socialism enters the picture I can't even begin to imagine, but then again I don't live in some kind fringe dream world the teabaggers seem to exist in.
smacksawAug 9, 2010
True, though tell that to Mitch McConnell who thinks that the Obama and the Democrats are somehow left of centre. Left of him? Sure. Lefists? Hardly.
jeepyAug 9, 2010
Yah I guess I was being a bit pedantic. Mitch and his goons are pandering to ideas so far to the right they shouldn't even be considered actual policy. Unfortunately being in the minority they can just constantly play the victim card and claim their ideas are awesome but being ignored. The American public is stupid enough to believe anything if it's repeated enough times.
Hopefully Obama is just trying to keep his hands clean and will throw his weight around come November.
fluxAug 9, 2010
gee got a short memory there don't you

MitchPaigeAug 9, 2010
It's really no secret, everyone in DC knows the Republicans aren't going to vote for any Bills they are excluded from having any part in other than voting on them. That was made abundantly clear during the Stimulus and subsequent bills.
Remember how the Democrats forced the 9/11 Responder Bill to a 2/3 majority vote specifically to exclude Republicans?
I don't expect to be seeing Republicans vote for much of anything in the current political environment. A political environment in which both parties are abusing the country to play partisan politics.
It takes two to tango.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
therednewtAug 9, 2010
@MitchPaige
Democrats put a gun bill up using the same technique during the very same week that Republicans voted against 9/11 responders. The Republicans voted for it. Liars.
fuhgetabotitAug 9, 2010
There is nothing in the GNOP, the political "right" these days but religious ignorance, bigotry and NO.
fuhg the right, fuhg them for being so intolerant, for being stupid enough to follow Fox, Palin, Bachmann, Rand, Angle, Boehner, Limbaugh and every s**t brained self righteousness hypocrisy and demagogue who waves some right trash 'c'hristianity in their inordinately backass dark ages semi-literate faces.
Me? I am sticking with the ones who at least are trying for something, trying to reason, trying to work the problem and find solutions, whoever that may be.
And here is the big one, that isn't now and never will be the foxbrained right trash which... IMHO... includes the 'c'hristian right, the social conservative, the teabagging bores or any other church stupid, intolerant, bigoted UN-Christian and Anti-American flag, fags and fuhg no pandering, demagogues whether they are on cable tv, speaking from a podium or from behind a pulpit.
Fuhg the right, its nothing but an open sewer of hate and no without a reasoned idea between the 20 million political retards making it up.
non00bAug 9, 2010
yes how dare the republicans wanting to support a right-wing ideology
smacksawAug 9, 2010
They can support whatever they like, but as a minority they should not have more power than what Americans across the country wanted them to have when they chose in more instances a Democrat.
enantiodromiaAug 9, 2010
Are you one of those people who confuses Republican with Right Wing?
fluxAug 9, 2010
smacksaw just remember that when the republicans take over in nov and your going attaboy to the dems blocking every thing
therednewtAug 9, 2010
@FLUX
I'd bet on the Democrats blocking everything after the s**t the GOP has pulled. What goes around comes around. Politics sucks.
fuhgetabotitAug 9, 2010
If the only thing you are supporting is ideological insanity in hostile intolerant mobs already scared and filled with ignorance by pandering with baldfaced lies isn't it more reasoned and responsible to be saying 'shame on them' then 'how dare they'?
dasroreAug 9, 2010
Mitch McConnel = Mitch Connor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn8M5SMg-4I
jayjaylolAug 9, 2010
McConnell already knows that the Republicans are in a losing battle for the November midterms. He is just making concessions with Obama to prepare for the inevitable. Obama gets a few extra votes to pass important legislation during the lame-duck session, and the Republicans don't get their butts widened so much.
smacksawAug 9, 2010
I hope you're right. Maybe he's giving him a chance to work with certain senators who are tired of being told what to do by the party as opposed to their conscience and their voters.
Considering the dire state of GOP finances on every level, it doesn't matter how clever their political message is if they can't get it out there.
fluxAug 9, 2010
dream on idiot the dems are gonna be thrown out on thier asses
therednewtAug 9, 2010
Republicans are already trying to curb expectations because they know any gains they make won't turn the tides completely. You know what isn't going to help? Healthcare. The positive effects are starting to trickle in, specifically the parts about children and young adults. Even my ultra-conservative parents have made comments about how great it is that so-and-so's son/daughter is able to stay on their insurance now.
fuhgetabotitAug 9, 2010
see... there is the problem, the teabaggers don't need flux, they need floss ;)
dayal911Aug 9, 2010
Um, the republicans are in good shape for November. What the hell are you talking about. They're set to pick up 6 seats
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/generic_congressional_vote-901.html
jeepyAug 9, 2010
One day we'll be able to look back and laugh at the time when Republicans decided to make their entire party platform a giant concession stand for 22% of the country. Oh well they tried passing the torch to the teabaggers unfortunately they're that group that's not mentally capable of handling fire, or sharp objects, or outlets. It's kinda funny watching such a vocal minority get it's time in the sun. Reminds me of a modern Whig party.
MitchPaigeAug 9, 2010

get over your self dumbass the tea party is full of the people that make this country work ie small business people and others who are tired of left wing progressive politics trying to remake this country into a European socialist failure
the tea partiers are a hell of a lot smarter than the average digg idiot who has never had a real job or owned a business and have no clue except what their liberal profs tell them to think Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Also, you might want to brush up on Junior High English.

The more correct you are here on Digg, the more you'll be dugg down by the pizza faces here.

sd70macmanAug 9, 2010
Thats weird. I'm liberal, sitting at my real civil engineering job (a rather conservative profession, mind you) that I had to work my butt off to get a college degree for. And before that, I had a real job fixing computers for a school district. And before that, I worked at a fish stand deep frying fish.
"...liberal profs..." You must be a communist because Stalin also hated and killed intellectuals.
hoodedrobinAug 9, 2010
Just because you own a business does not mean your vote or voice should be heard louder or clearer than the small guys who work for you. Small business are great for America, but unfortunately its big business that rules our Judicial Legislative and Executive branches on both sides. Big Oil Big Pharm Cigarette co's NRA (which really doesn't do much for the average American who owns a gun like myself.)
Owning a business does not make you a god, owning a business is like having a super power it takes great responsibility.
seltaeb4Aug 9, 2010
I wouldn't say the Teabaggers are the modern version of the Whig Party.
I'd say the Teabaggers are the modern version of the Know-Nothing Party.
therednewtAug 9, 2010
And the rest of the GOP? Do-Nothing Party.

seltaeb4Aug 9, 2010
The title of the article refers to Obama/McConnell scheduling "face time."
"FaceTime" is also the name of the iPhone 4's voice/video over IP technology, as featured in their newest series of commercials.

If they actually come some sort of constructive understanding that allows things to get done for the American people, then by all means I hope they meet more. Whether that happens or not...

The Republicans are set to pickup 6 seats in November.

They are ahead in the polls by quite a bit.
I'm not saying this is good or bad, but I'm sure that this is of concern to Obama.

This is exactly what should be happening. Nothing gets done through name calling and demonizing. Both parties have to make concessions in order for legislation to get passed and actually talking to those on the other side of the aisle is needed.

Obama facing time sounds good to me.
enzomediciAug 9, 2010
It just shows how partisan Obama really is. He won the election and then thought his mandate was to jam every socialist program down our throats. He pretends to be bi-partisan, but hasn't worked with Republicans at all like Bill Clinton did.
Obama didn't even meet with the CEO of BP until 60 days later. This is why Obama will be a one term president. He just doesn't get it.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
