Somehow Digg has missed all the hype about SOPA and everyone transferring their domains from GoDaddy. I just happened to stumble upon http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?domain=digg.com&prog_id=GoDaddy and it looks like Digg is slacking in the transfer department.
anomaly100Dec 29, 2011
I was talking to someone about that yesterday. They need some activism on Digg, which is what the Reddit community is known for. JMHO.
smurfzDec 29, 2011
Digg definitely needs some activism. This used to be a mainly tech website and now the people running it don't even care about the future of the online tech industry? It's just saddening to see them not doing anything at all about it.
anomaly100Dec 29, 2011
Actually, it would be great publicity for them to change. I think it would bring in more traffic if they saw the zeal that Reddit has from their staff (hint hint digg).
Ouzel7Dec 29, 2011
I would be great if Digg could become a place for activism. Conservatives could use a place like this to exchange info and views.
graphictruthDec 29, 2011
Is there Fedstate? Is there no Freep? /s
And what, precisely, is the POINT of exchanging information and views when the very idea of factual information and informed viewpoints is *anathtema* to the current day angrywhite... I mean, "Real American Conservative."
Seriously, I'd *welcome* a genuine conservative forum with thoughtful viewpoints and deep analysis that had a hope in hell of presenting me something worth my time to consider.
...well, Forbes has some worthwhile stuff. Check this out:

It seems like you are angry at ME... when above there are liberal posters advocating using Digg as a place for activism.
Your second paragraph is very offensive to me as a conservative. But I'll admit that your characterization seems to be the Digg consensus of "what conservatives are."
In short, you were graphic, but not really truthful.
There are many conservatives in America. It seems like there are many liberals who simply seethe at them.
Again...liberals above you are thinking that Digg could use itself as an activist platform for liberals... when *I* commented that conservatives might also find it interesting, you saw fit to insult me.
Doesn't that say quite a bit?
icwydDec 30, 2011
Is digg a "liberal site"?
graphictruthDec 30, 2011
Well, I did try to distinguish between what I consider conservatism, and what passes for "conservatism" now - the people that think Bachman and Rick Perry are credible candidates... for anything other than a sanity hearing.
But if your milage varies, well, I suppose you have every right to feel insulted.
Still, genuine conservative activism - as opposed to neocon knownothing idiocrats - that might just be a good thing.
icwydDec 30, 2011
I REITERATE! Is digg a "liberal site"?
Since I got down voted I will take that as a yes since I have seen almost every con say that digg is "so liberal" and "is a liberal site". Then tell me why it would be a great place for cons to get together an share ideas.
What that tells me is you think that fox news' site is a great place for liberal to get together and share ideas.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

I have no idea why you are yelling at me. I'm not five and wasn't here to answer you.
Are you telling me that Digg should NOT be a place for conservatives to use, but SHOULD be a place for liberals to use?
It was my understanding that the site wasn't owned by Democrats. I don't see anything in their information that says, "This site is for liberals only."
Do you own the site? If not, who are you to say who can and can't post here?
graphictruthDec 30, 2011
Digg is not a liberal site. It's a site where people submit the stories they want seen, and other members judge them. It is only "liberal" or "conservative" to the extent that people are able/willing to game the system.
Now, I have come to believe - it's cynical of me, I know - that a "liberal" sight is one that moderates lightly and permits a wide range of opinion, while a conservative site is one that wields a banhammer with wild abandon.
So in that sense, it's "liberal." And that is within the great Liberal tradition - the idea that an idea has to stand on it's own merits; that if you drop your opinion into the public arena, you may have the right to say it, but you have no right to expect people to respect you for having said it. That comes from saying something interesting, persuasive and defensible.
And I have no problem with that. Nor would William F. Buckley Jr.. well, save for one little matter; were he alive, I expect that he (and Barry Goldwater) would be mortified by upvotes from idiots, knowing full well that it wasn't that he was saying conservative things, but that he was well known for being Conservative.
Ouzel7Dec 31, 2011
Graphictruth you know we were talking politically liberal and not liberal in moderation tactics. You just switched the conversation.
Also, go post some conservative content at Democratic Underground and get back to me. I have been a member of a few sites that were strictly political in nature and liberal owners/moderators were very likely to "banhammer"...what was worse was that they would tolerate behavior from posters that shared their beliefs and then ban posters that didn't.
I have seen a number of conservative posters here that are making decent and reasonable posts. In some cases they are ferociously attacked by some liberals.
graphictruthDec 31, 2011
@Ouzel7: um... my prejudices are showing. Your point is taken about DU, and I'll raise you a DailyKos. But then, I don't usually go ANYWHERE that presumes that in order to post, it is reasonable for me to pass some ideological test.
And just for that, I've been called a "fascist commie" here. So, well, I do tend to be a little less forgiving of people coming here and supporting what the purport to be conservative views, for in fact, it's usually a blend of bile and ignorance with a levening of "social conservatism" of the "roll in the cattle cars" variety.
I would applaud and welcome true conservatives, even someone as conservative as Barry Goldwater, for while I'd probably disagree with him, I'd actually have to work at it.
AS it SHOULD be.
shroomtimeDec 30, 2011
Digg doesn't care anymore. In fact they never really cared at all, but just tend to have the ability to make it seem like they're doing the right thing.
xeworlebiDec 29, 2011
I would've been happy to not see half of those on Digg.
A few articles types I dislike: list articles, inforgraphic articles, summary-of-last-year/what's-going-to-happen-next-year articles, articles that pretent to know what I like/don't know/should have done/etc. This one has them all rolled up in to one. *sigh*
Can we turn Digg back into a social news website? (emphasis on news)
jeworldDec 30, 2011
What's wrong with infographics? I'd much rather look at a summarized and usually artful picture than reading paragraphs of someone's opinion.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

fox news uses tina fey photo for sara palin...HAHA
davidtcDec 30, 2011
Hahaha at anomaly saying Digg should change their site to more of a tech site. Does she not understand that this is a user driven site and she is one of the main users? All that we see come from her is left wing propaganda.
But who is to blame her? Spamming her political site does pay bills.
