Way to go Ted!! Cheers to you
Closed AccountJan 8, 2011
The guy was in the position he was in because of drugs and alcohol. Probably notthe nest to say "cheers" to him.
thechauvinistJan 8, 2011
You fail at seeking redemption.
dannybuntuJan 8, 2011
he fails at nesting too.. :/
Closed AccountJan 8, 2011
What does my comment have ANYTHING to do with seeking redemption? (though it is questionable whtehr a guy really deserves TWELVE "second chances")
My comment was saying that when a guy is trying to get his life back on track after alcohol abuse, it is prabably best not to use an expresion that has its roots in DRINKING ALCOHOL! Congratulations. Way to go. Kudos! Any number of different expressions would have been better.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

He should be the next movie trailer guy like Don LaFontaine
rogpog777Jan 8, 2011
Mmmm...I don't see his voice being a trailer voice, but radio and commercials...hell, even a sports commentator, those are what suit him.
angrycat70Jan 8, 2011
Erm... drunks are what they are. Unless he's sober, he will screw up again.
That's coming from a guy who has been clean & sober for 7 years.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
anomaly100Jan 8, 2011
He claims to be sober for 2 years. I hope it's true and I wish him success.
angrycat70Jan 8, 2011
I do too. I just know drunks too well.

Why does everybody see drinking as bad? To most it's a pleasure.
Closed AccountJan 8, 2011
Well...if you're drinking and you find yourself homeless, you probably have a problem.
walgmanJan 8, 2011
True. But if I were homeless I would definitely drink. But that probably makes me average.
anomaly100Jan 8, 2011
Yes but Quirk has a point. If he drank himself out of his house and by the way his police report is pretty murky -- he's not just a sociable drinker.
ophelloJan 8, 2011
I love this man.
CageDoctorsJan 8, 2011
Ted that was cheezy....but glad you got the gig. Good job!
hackiewackieJan 8, 2011
I watched this twice!
beabisJan 8, 2011
I'd say Ted has about 3 minutes of fame left.
bigtime2Jan 8, 2011
Said the guy who is jealous of Ted's fame.
FPSmotoJan 9, 2011
No, that'd be epic beard man. Remember him? Didn't think so.
bigtime2Jan 10, 2011
I do, others may not.
5plic3rJan 8, 2011
According to Wikipedia, he's dead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Williams#Death
vendrakeJan 8, 2011
Sorry. Try again.

I know; I was making joke (but apparently no one shares my dark sense of humour).
glbernsJan 9, 2011
I enjoyed it.
intensevisualsJan 8, 2011
This makes me happy. :)
mtnxfreeriderJan 8, 2011
Im thinking his voice is a bit too deep for commercials and radio. Movie trailors though I think fit. Can't believe he got something out so quick.
kinkykelleyJan 8, 2011
Thanks for sharing and keeping me updated!

Thanks for good article. Hope to see more soon. . . . .
killerlettuceJan 8, 2011
Good for him, he deserves it.
antialiasJan 8, 2011
While I wish him all the best, I'm sure a lot of the work he's getting is companies cashing in on the story. This commercial for instance will get a ton more view than it would have if they had used another voice. When we've all forgotten about Ted in 6 months I wonder if the jobs will keep coming(though his gig with the Cavaliers should be steady).
diggtwofaceJan 8, 2011Submitter
Wonder if he hired an agent. That would be his best bet to do
bigtime2Jan 8, 2011
I was going to say the same thing. That commercial (probably) got more views than any other Kraft commercial.
myztryJan 8, 2011
He was outside near the trashcan waiting for leftovers, and projecting his voice through the window...
itwasonlyajokeJan 8, 2011
I don't know about you guys, but I want some mac and cheese now!

MjalienbreedJan 8, 2011
put aside the drug and alcohol abused trailed with a long rap sheet, this man is good at what he does. We've all had mishaps in one shape or form but you yourself don't highligtht the ugly side of your history in a big interview do you? He's obviously moved past the negative lifestyle and seems ready to embrace a wholesome, well paid life. props man
Closed AccountJan 8, 2011
The point is,m he HASN'T moved past his ugly lifestyle. Many of his run ins with the law were just a couple months ago. And that is just hte last time he got CAUGHT.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
MjalienbreedJan 8, 2011
The point I was getting at is yes, there is the nasty history he has and yes he was a drug addict, but the people hiring him and exploiting his talent are well aware of it and are still willing to hire him for a good reason. so do you really believe he is going to continue with the drug and alcohol party lifestyle with his chums from the streets commiting loitering crimes? He is getting a golden oppurtunity for a career, and I think he would know the responsibility now required to take care of his job opportunities.

...and that's how you make a Kraft Diner ad go viral.
sutleyJan 8, 2011
No kidding, people eat up this cheap viral marketing crap. Guess that's how Kraft got the idea.
bigtime2Jan 8, 2011
If you can make your ads go viral, then go for it. No one is stopping you. Everyone is out there trying to make money.
walgmanJan 8, 2011
Canny move employing the mist famous VO artist on the planet.
technopunditJan 8, 2011
shutup
vinetariJan 8, 2011
hope he doesn't fall off the wagon again :P
KoinonosJan 8, 2011
It is my sincere hope that he stays clean and sober. As a 12 stepper (4.5 years) if he gets into a group in the area he moves into for support, love, and accountability with a sponsor who cares about his sobriety and if Ted wants genuine life change he should do fine. If he doesn't it won't take too many company parties and lucrative amounts of $$ to start him down that dark road again.
I read Robert Downey Jr.'s story about how he stays clean and sober - (Nutrition, Martial Arts, his sponsor went with him wherever he was in a 'Hollywood Party' situation, etc). Here's hoping Ted does the same.
headmaster80Jan 8, 2011
good for him.
dwhsJan 8, 2011
lol awesome. His voice is golden.
jginthehouseJan 8, 2011
ted williams is the bees knees.
laxmackJan 8, 2011
He does have the voice. Hope once the media attention dies down that he is able to keep going in the right direction.

Best Story of the Year...
glbernsJan 9, 2011
Haaaaaaaaaaaave ya met Ted?
coldkatJan 9, 2011
ted williams aside, is it just me, or is this commercial terrible? dad brings home an important client, sticks him on the couch with junior while mom bitches out dad 5 feet away.
then, mom whips up mac and cheese from a plastic pouch and places in on the table while she continues to stare down dad.
not a very happy/supportive family!
bshenskyJan 10, 2011
I find no trivial amount of poetry in that mac & cheese is the dinner of sober frugality, and Ted's getting his life back on track to target the same.
Fame is fleeting, Ted. Enjoy it, keep it together, seek worthiness over respect, slow and steady wins the race, and best of luck. We luvs ya.
