Seanbaby is a genius.
itomatoAug 5, 2010
A genius that drinks Bud Light in a can?
spazattack5000Aug 5, 2010
Is that the same Seanbaby that used to write for EGM back when people still read magazines?
manutdscotAug 5, 2010
'Tis
spazattack5000Aug 5, 2010
That guy was my hero during my early teens.
maqikelefantAug 10, 2010
I loved EGM so much back in the day. I miss the way it used to be when i was a kid. It was the greatest.
hsuboxAug 5, 2010
"I’m sure that’s common among people who grew up with cholera as their only hobby"
Nice historical burn.
drtalAug 5, 2010
Spot on. I loved his Green Lantern one.

Nice try Cracked but Scott Meets Family Circus is better than this...

I disagree.

Who the f**k is Scott?

Search for the Dysfunctional Family Circus archives.

They were all over this meme 20 years ago.
wakkyweedAug 5, 2010
Heck, my brothers and I used to do this to our Family Circle books way back in the mid-70's. Everybody stole the idea from us!
sacrabosAug 5, 2010
Okay, I'm showing my age. I used to regularly read the Dysfunctional Family Circus. And 20 years later, Cracked manages to do it lamely.
rglarson13Aug 5, 2010
Ugh. Family Circus sucks so much, even Cracked couldn't do more than make it tolerable.
eddiepotatoAug 5, 2010
That was about 1/10 as funny as I expected it to be.
renolcAug 5, 2010
That's an oddly specific amount. How do you quantify the lulz?
ayeroxorAug 5, 2010
Then it's a good homage to the original
bloodwineAug 5, 2010
His PG-13 comic versions aren't very funny, but his funny rants after each original comic image more than makes up for that.
stanly22Aug 5, 2010
I hated Family Circus until I had kids. Now I find it amusing. I guess I'm getting old.
bloodwineAug 5, 2010
I have kids and it still doesn't amuse me.
cerebronAug 5, 2010
You must be getting senile.
muffinmonkAug 5, 2010
These revamped comics weren't funny either. Family Circus just isn't funny. The way it's made, you just can't rewrite the punchline, because it won't be funny either.
darkciti2Aug 5, 2010
Todd: "Okay. You sit down and read your paper, and you're enjoying your entire two-page comics spread. Right? And then there's the Family f**king Circus, bottom right-hand corner, just waiting to suck."
It's the last one you read. Ugh.
heliumflashAug 5, 2010
Even Family Circus PG13 isn't funny. It's really hopeless
dagnabbitAug 5, 2010
Just read Garfield minus Garfield and be satisfied. Nothing can be done to salvage this tripe, NOTHING!
bloodwineAug 5, 2010
Garfield Minus Garfield is much more amusing than with Garfield. It is funny how well it works.

Dugg for having to bring "two fists"
stickyheadAug 5, 2010
Having an 8 inch penis at that age would just get in the way.
ayeroxorAug 5, 2010
Hell, it gets in the way at MY age.
muffinmonkAug 6, 2010
Of course it does, you can't suck dick efficiently while walking.
itomatoAug 5, 2010
Successful Family Circus satire requires cross pollination.
Take this Snuffy Smith cross, for example..

It's always there, in the lower right hand corner, just waiting to suck.

My father wrote this letter to the editor of the Grand Rapids Press about 20 years ago. It was published, and a copy lives on my fridge. His letter far exceeds any commentary I could offer on the subject of The Family Circus:
"While enjoying the comic section over a second cup of coffee one recent Sunday morning, I suffered a momentary lapse of attention and found myself reading "The Family Circus." My eyes glazed over, my lower jaw dropped and I began drooling uncontrollably.
My son happened into the room and immediately sized up the situation. He slapped a Monty Python film into the VCR and walked me around the room while reciting ribald limericks until the crisis passed. His quick thinking saved my sense of humor, but I may not be as lucky next time.
The brain contains humor receptors which, when stimulated (or tickled if you will), provide us with grins, smirks, laughter, chuckles, and the recently documented guffaw reflex. When subjected to drivel like "The Family Circus" however, humor receptors begin to die as if by oxygen deprivation. This condition can, of course, be corrected by a humor receptor transplant. Just try to find a donor in West Michigan.
I suggest that The Press discontinue "The Family Circus" and instead publish a blank space. This would be more entertaining than the current offering and would allow readers to draw their own cartoons. Perhaps you could sponsor a contest along the line of "Beat Becker;" something like "Be more entertaining than Bill Keane."
A lobster should be able to win it!"

you joined digg and live in your fathers shadow.
therumsterAug 5, 2010
Ha, my Dad wrote a letter to the editor since he felt their annual, tournament style Microbeer contest to determine the best Jersey microbrews encouraged binge drinking in college.
You can see the backlash here.

Family Circus re-dubbed with Nietzsche quotes

oddly entertaining.
zb757Aug 5, 2010
Indeed
crichton101Aug 5, 2010
Sounds like a whole group of bitter people who are jealous of someone else's success. Part of the thing with it is the rather funny innocence of kids, a comic about the funny things kids say. Which is probably why non of you like it, it's not a bitter sarcastic comic strip that throws out sexual references every other comic. How about instead of bitching about something people other people like, you just don't read it. No one is making you. This is no better then the morons like Jack Thompson who wanted to ban violent video games because he didn't like them, even though obviously it's a very popular genre. Ok, bury me away now.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
speshulAug 5, 2010
i'm not jealous of his "success"-
his comics just suck and aren't funny at all.
i bet you like marmaduke, too.

"The second problem here is that computers don’t display static. Bill Keane has mistaken them for televisions."
It's the Windows 95 stars screensaver. Just saying.
theengineer2008Aug 6, 2010
Was going to post that, too. How does he not get that one?
ooxmanAug 6, 2010
What...oh, PUH-scetti.
volfie99Aug 6, 2010
Those weren't funny at all.
thekitchensinkxAug 6, 2010
Was the last one a reference to that site that replaces Family Circus punchlines with Nietzsche quotes? That's a good site :)
And I think the last comic was about the starfield windows screensaver...
thejackylAug 6, 2010
Seanbaby is squandering his talents on Cracked.com. He should be getting paid the big bucks for this stuff.
jbmar412Aug 6, 2010
the funniest part of that article was the winternet
maqikelefantAug 10, 2010
"Every time.....it erases an episode of The 3 Stooges. That's how powerfully unfunny it is." I'm going to have to remember that one for further use.
