What makes her a sicko? Is it because the kitten was alive, or because it was a kitten? If it had been a rat or rabbit this wouldn't make the news.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
What makes her a sicko is complete lack of empathy to speak of force feed unsuspected trusty animal and share it to public. In all probability not here first forced feed either. There are fortunately laws against animal cruelty exactly because of people like this. Danger of post like this is that all sort of other non emphatic people like this sort of cruel entertainment (like killing bears in America recently and encouraging children to take part in "exhilarating hunt"). Feeding and killing for entertainment purposes. If somebody doesn't get this lack empathy too and it needs psychiatric evaluation
Whoa Whoa Whoa. Let us leave youth hunts out of this discussion. The snake needed to get fed. Maybe this person is cold hearted, but a lack of empathy does not make them a sicko. It does not look like they actually tortured the cat before she fed it to the snake. The snake did not tortue the cat, the snake just did what snakes do. I've had a snake before, and every mouse I fed it was alive and unsuspecting that it was about to be strangled and swallowed whole. She just chose a different animal.
If it is against the law to feed live animals to pets in the UK then this person is in violation, however I am sure there are plenty of other violators feeding live animals to their snakes all across the UK. Does the UK have a list of animals that are allowed to be fed to other pets, or a law banning cats and dogs to be fed to other animals while rodents are allowed? 20,000 Pounds and six months in prison is way to harsh of a punishment.
There are people in China and Korea who eat dog. Folks in certain Eurpoean countries eat horse meat. There are significant cultural differences around the world about which animals are pets, and which are livestock. I am not going to judge somebody purely on choosing which animal they chooses to feed a snake.
Sorry Dan but I don't think that there is much use here arguing our points since we are not on the same page. If you see this as a normal or even cute good for you... happy feeding of your snake
Not a problem Mishko. We are just not to see eye to eye on this. I do not find it cute. Just not abnormal enough to warrant an evaluation. Happy surfing.
In all honesty what is the difference between this and a live rabbit, or rat? I undertand that many people believe snakes should be given frozen rodents, but it is the pet owners choice. Would it make people feel better if it was a frozen kitten? The snake has to eat some sort of small to medium sized animal to survive. I don't understand what difference it makes as long as it was her cat and her snake. It could have been her dog and I'd still say it's her choice. It's not cruel. That is how Pythons eat.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
As humans, we are hard-wired to respond empathetically to "cute" animals. Their adorableness is, in fact, an elemental part of their survival mechanism and represents an evolutionary exchange between them and us developed over millenia of shared evolution. Of course, none of this applies to the snake, for which -- as you rightly point out -- the kitty serves as food. In a sense, however, both you and the owner are being -- inhuman.

beyond belief, 'sicko' doesn't even come close to express disturbed nature of this person
