I notice that California has the greatest shortage of nurses. That is a direct result of the republicon governator targeting them as well as teachers, firefighters, and police year after year after year.
There are no new nurses because there is no money there anymore.

But it's the worse job ever. the pay is poor the hours are long and you have to deal
not only with sick people you have to deal with doctors.
Your nothing more than an educated janitor.

The fact that there's a shortage means that the better jobs will get the nurses they need and the worse jobs won't. That means employers will work to improve conditions or simply pay more money in order to get the employees they need to stay in business.

Overcoming the crisis is just a matter of increasing schools and teachers. No shortage of students.

In nursing school now. Couldn't pass up a great opportunity. Never get laid-off again!

The best perk being a nurse? Going to the beach on your sick days and still managing to do overtime shifts!

What's sad is, in some places nursing programs are highly selective (good thing) and heavily impacted with waiting lists 3 years long. But because we don't set up additional new programs for our best and brightest and most capable go go through them, we instead hire nurses from other countries. This in a time when only 53% of those who graduated from college between 2006 and 2010 have a full time job!
