No, but I had two fingers on my writing hand cut off in college a day before finals week and I was forced to complete my final papers and tests using my off hand while heavily medicated by painkillers. With absolutely no extensions granted (not that I asked for any). And I still did my work and passed with A's.

DrJG, that is a crock of s**t. Something like this happening in your life is not a reason to start failing your classes. Lets put things in perspective here. You are acting like she fell into an industrial sized meat grinder and just barely escaped with her life.
Being upset due to one thing happening in your life is normal. Letting that frustrating seep into other, arguably more important, areas is not good. For instance, perhaps this happening would upset you to the point where you couldn't complete coursework for a week or two. Maybe a month. Whatever. But then you get back to doing your damn work. You don't just sit back and say 'we'll, I'm too upset.' That just isn't acceptable.
At some point you have to move on and accept your responsibilities. I'm not saying she shouldn't be upset, seek counseling, and whatever else. I'm saying this flat out isn't an excuse to indefinitely stop doing your coursework.
A lot of people are clinically depressed. A lot of people are abused in one way or another. A lot of people see and live through some f**ked up s**t. But you still do your damn school work. How else are you ever going to better yourself and your life? Win the lottery? Become a star athlete? Please.

When others witness you being humiliated -- it affects your dignity.
And regardless of how it affected this girl on Wall Street, she could say it causes her to cluck like a chicken at a full moon -- and still win millions -- because what this assh**e did was ATROCIOUS.

Yeah but at the same time, we can't make the penalty for every sexual assault case worth a lifetime of income. The level of sexual assault this girl received was NOT high. It was awkward and a physical assault but it was not a big deal. Every week on Jersey Shore somebody is assaulted to a greater degree (knock outs) than this chick was. I'm pretty sure that most guys on this board have been in fights that were stronger forms of assault that this was and none of us got any money for it. She can sell her place, use 100,000 to supplement her search for an equivalent place in another town, use 100,000 to replace her salary for 2 years while she finds a new job, and keep 100,000 for the "emotional trauma".
Even then this bitch would be making out like a bandit.

Yes, but it can also be assumed that one with a size 14 foot is likely more massive than one with a size 1 foot, thus increasing the force of the blow.

Okay--$20 million, yeah, that's probably too much money. But ask yourself, this guy is a Wall Street exec., does he really deserve that money? I've yet to meet anyone who's $20 million awesome at their job.
It's hardly a simple event either; nor does everyone react the same way. Frankly, you would have had to mop me off the floor after that. I wouldn't have gotten out of bed for a week, and my father would be tooling around Wall Street with a shotgun. I'm not ashamed to say that either; being psychologically affected by something doesn't make me weak and pathetic, it makes me a human.
We're also getting into degrees here. Like for domestic abuse: is slapping a woman really that much better than punching her? Should we go light on a guy because he didn't beat her within an inch of her life, or should we assume since the behavior happened in the first place, it's probably going to continue? As studies show, the guy is probably going to end up killing the woman if she doesn't get away. And I know I know, women hit men, and that's not okay either. In the case of the exec., it seems like things like this have happened before.

I don't think the role reversal works well in this case
1) Getting stomped on penis = mutilated. I believe boobs are like cushions and a penis like a stick. Stomp a cushion, it'll be fine in the long run, but stomp a stick and it snaps. While it might be highly unlikely that my penis will snap (unless maybe i have a boner) in the long run I will have excruciating pain.
2) No man would want to push a girl off of him (and if he did he wouldn't fall). These two indicate he's either small in size or gay.

I'm a male who works in the financial district and I pretty much can care less for most people in the area. Woman and minorities definitely have it tough. It doesn't matter how good they do their job, for the most part they will never be respected as equals. And if they do move up, it always seems like they get the least cooperation from everyone else.
Sounds harsh and maybe untrue, but it's not.

That's the thing - women have had a rough time making inroads on the trading floor - and still must wear a jacket, which is a bit ridiculous. So, to demoralize and disrespect someone like this in an environment where she is already at a career disadvantage is unconscionable.
His actions could very well have cost her respect and "street cred" on the floor for which she fought so hard already--thus costing her money. Maybe not $20M, but I don't know how much traders can make over the course of a career.

Trust me, you didn't. There are a lot of rich douches in the world. Today my sister was telling me you don't have to tip servers for booze and you should use the pre-tax amount to calculate the tip. I'm never going out to eat with them again, unless I can watch them make their food, because the servers probably spit in it. The thing is, they have tons of money, and I don't, but I tip better.
