blitzkriegpunkJul 1, 2010
OMG I CAN TOTALLY SEE WHEN YOU DIGG SOMETHING W/YOUR NEWS!!11ONE
ninjaboyJul 1, 2010
Dude this new site rocks. Hats off to your tech's making all this work using cassandra!
kevinroseJul 2, 2010StaffSubmitter
thanks!
ruyguyJul 2, 2010
Kevin, props to your design department. They need a raise.
chrisflyJul 2, 2010
for essientially cloning facebooks ui?
pariramiJul 9, 2010
awsome design but I can't seem to selectively share immediately from the digg list.
snyderxcJul 12, 2010
I agree! If I had one thing to say though, the blue bar at the top reminds me of Facebook.
brad28Jul 2, 2010
hey Kevin love the new digg man.
xero17Jul 2, 2010
The new look and feel is just so sleek, simple, and modern. Great job!
tiduJul 2, 2010
The site is fast and responsive, a department Digg was never that great in. Although I'm slightly disappointed in the replacement of the thumbs up/down with arrows. Still fantastic though.
bwd18Jul 2, 2010
I love how fast the new version is it makes it so much easier to find interesting articles!

Hey Kevin, how come the Konami Code doesn't expand all comments anymore?
xqb4dpxJul 2, 2010
Kevin, you signed my original iPhone. Awesome.
x_cruciatingJul 2, 2010
I am waiting for you to publish in as much gory details as possible, the way your integration with Cassandra was done at digg. Thanks!
dep01Jul 2, 2010
Yeah the UI is snappy, clean, and intuitive!
karmanawtJul 2, 2010
At the top of the page it says that there is only one comment from people that I follow. You clearly have more than one comment on this page. Please fix.
pariramiJul 9, 2010
Kevin - replicate this: 1) close the announcement on how to digg from mynews 2) click on top news tab and 3) return to the mynews tab --- voila you still have the announcement open. It should instead be closed already, can be irritating after a while =)

I was getting an error ("could not digg") on the front page when I went to digg it.
Also: just trying to post this comment "TSocket: timed out reading 4 bytes from localhost:20400"
xenondesignJul 2, 2010
Cant digg on this page either. Sent a bug report :)
pxmmJul 2, 2010
Me too, can't digg stories or comments; :( I get the same errors although an option to report a bug popped up after a few tries.
Commenting gets an "TSocket: timed out reading 4 bytes from localhost:20400" error too, bug report sent
pxmmJul 2, 2010
Well that comment was supposedly 'timed out'.
Diggs and comment digging working now after a nice email assuring me that work is going on behind the scenes :)
gatesophileJul 2, 2010
When I tired to digg it from the front page, I got an error, and when I went to this page to digg it, it still said "There was an error saving this digg, please try again."
pariramiJul 9, 2010
my first digg showed an 'internal error' but it counted it right. there's a graphic problem on the digg count but it's minor - only an aesthetic thing on the font. same with replying on a thread - this box is not flushed correctly rather overlaid on top of 'Reply to this thread' (on explorer)
azurfireJul 2, 2010
I am just loving the epicness of Digg4 so far. And i've noticed my digging has jumped significantly, with more relevant and interesting stuff being pushed my way. Keep it up, dude.

ds2600Jul 2, 2010
Absolutely LOVING how fast v4 is running.
porplemJul 2, 2010
Let's hope it stays this way when the masses are let in.

apotropaicJul 2, 2010
Hey Kevin, also thanks for making digg useful, like when I first signed up in 2005.
digg.com - Once again my go to source for news.
ninjaboyJul 2, 2010
Hell yeah man, I'm from 2004. We are the old school diggers.
sharpJul 9, 2010
Admittedly, I haven't dugg or commented much, but I generally get on here multiple times per day, and have since I joined. Wasn't always logged in, but that will change with v4.
we are old :(

Hey Kevin check out my digg posts man cheers Brad

No doubt about it....this site rocks!!!
Looks great on my iPad too!! ;)
animefxJul 2, 2010
Kevin, this is great. I kind of miss the "thumbs up, thumbs down" though... It made it seem a little more personal rather than pure tech.
nshadyJul 2, 2010
This is just me testing the new comment system. It's pretty sexy.
thegenomeJul 2, 2010
damn this new website is awesome! hope the advertising remains just as unobtrusive as it is atm! people will hate the change though... prepare for hate brigade!
nofx1510Jul 2, 2010
Loving the new site, glad to see the social side of digg is finally starting to bloom.
khymaeraJul 2, 2010
Every time I digg something, i get an error that there was an error saving the digg please try again.
addiktionJul 2, 2010
Gorgeous indeed. I love the subtle light colors. Heck even the comments here have a light blue which is definitely a nice change from the black you are used to seeing. Cheers.

If first impressions mean anything, I think we're gonna' like the new Digg! Nicely done.
virtualdavisJul 19, 2010
Bravo on the facelift, @$$lift and overall new rollout! Overdue and and much anticipated, but you've exceeded expectations. Glad to have you back at the helm. Vision, leadership and courage. Thank you and good luck.

Oh, cool. Quick question: is Tesla really making a sub 30k electric car?
hivoltage815Jul 2, 2010
I honestly tried to click that link and was disappointed it didn't work. These are the exact type of marketing campaigns that would work on Digg. Have an interesting product and a great article to go with it, and treat it like it's any other Digg story (of course with the exception of pointing out that it was a paid ad).
casniovaJul 2, 2010
I had same question, I keep trying to click the ad...haha
casniovaJul 2, 2010

tiakJul 1, 2010
example.com would've been a more appropriate URL, but since we got test.com instead... WTF? You can be awarded a patent for selling online tests and sharing the money?
"The Test.com invention relates to a method of making a test and posting the test online for potential test-takers including providing a host system and a plurality of remote terminals coupled to the Internet, inputting questions at one of the remote terminals, compiling the questions at the host system to make a compiled test, posting the test online for potential test-takers, wherein a test-taker is required to pay to take the compiled test, and wherein the test-maker and the proprietor of the host system share the revenues generated by the test-taker taking the test."

I get the same thing, but it goes through sometimes. It's still in alpha, and looking phenomenal I might add. I hope this new digg ushers in a smarter discussion about the topics and a more centralized community focus like Reddit. I love both sites, but Reddit has the educated discussion I crave.

Funny you should choose test.com, as there's absolutely no chance it'd make the homepage without this little experimental nudge.
BTW, thanks for the site revisions, Kevin & the digg team.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Digg 4 is great! Runs a little weird on the iPad though.
adderx99Jul 2, 2010
digg v4 rocks Kevin. Loving the old-school digg look, reminds me of the glory days.
viserovJul 2, 2010
Much faster than the current Digg... the text color in the comment box is a little light, though.
viserovJul 2, 2010
I edited my comment and now I see it listed twice in my activity history.

I love being able to see test posts while in the Alpha. It's not a feature, but being the person I am, it's cool.
Closed AccountJul 2, 2010
Not sure if it's just me or are people posting the same comment a lot?
richidJul 2, 2010Staff
There were some earlier issues with our comment service falsely reporting errors. The comment would be saved but would report an error which caused the users to post again. Everything seems to be sorted out for the most part now.
rickstouderJul 2, 2010
Digg 4 was my Idea... :) loving that I can see what people I follow in the knowledge area that I like are linking to... It give the original article/news story more value. Love it *****
samgabJul 2, 2010
Dugg... New digg is pretty sweet. Woo hoo for getting an invite!
khsheehanJul 2, 2010
Dugg, things are looking pretty sweet so far. Keep up the great work.
rgpeach10Jul 2, 2010
I love how you can submit multiple articles on the same topic, but I think you need to group those items together under top news and add up their diggs so that one topic doesn't get fragmented.
hivoltage815Jul 2, 2010
Looks good so far. I am having trouble grasping the profile history though. I like to review my comments and see what kinds of diggs/buries they got. It doesn't seem so easy on v4. Maybe I am not used to it, but might be a valid criticism too.
Nice work!
hivoltage815Jul 2, 2010
Another criticism: It shows comments from people you follow at the top, but does not let you click a link to jump to the thread in which that comment takes place. Therefore you cannot see it in context.
thomasJul 2, 2010
Everything is looking very nice so far.
ipwncJul 2, 2010
Not digging that I have to scroll to the bottom of the page to leave a comment
cJul 2, 2010
agreed! we are working on that right now actually. expect inline commenting direct from storylists too!
mksmothersJul 2, 2010

However the "DiggAd by Tesla Motors" doesn't.
philbertJul 2, 2010
Dugg! Hey I just noticed we have much shorter edit time now. I was wishing the time would be longer before, I'm a pretty bad typist and often go back to fix mistakes..
