I've heard of stage diving, but this is crazy.
ngmcs8203Aug 22, 2010
What's crazier is that it's the second time that someone went like this in front of an audience this week: http://www.mercurynews.com/top-stories/ci_15839768?nclick_check=1
anomaly100Aug 21, 2010
Did he want to leave the world in this way to become famous after his death? I don't understand why else he'd do this in front of so many people. Or why do it at all?Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
kylescousinAug 21, 2010Submitter
He didn't do it in front of many people, he jumped behind the stage... The reasons for his suicide are still a mystery.
hipmanAug 22, 2010
It usually is.
globalswarmingAug 21, 2010
If I was a part of a band called Ou Est Le Swimming Pool I'd kill myself too.
stuntaneousAug 22, 2010
the digg community, such sensitive people.
splizxerAug 22, 2010
I agree, no big loss at all.
discofriskoAug 21, 2010
After their show was over he or one of the other band members (it's still uncertain) jumped into the unexpecting crowd, breaking a girl's spine.
That probably had something to do with it...
overlord555Aug 22, 2010
i don't remember the article saying her spine was broken.
h04xAug 22, 2010
Her spine wasn't broken, just severely injured.
discofriskoAug 23, 2010
The papers today confirmed she had 4 broken discs in her back.
I call that a broken spine.
zippyvAug 22, 2010
There are some details from this article that don't correspond with what the Belgian press is saying:
- It was the singer himself who jumped into the public, not some other band member,
- He jumped after the performance was done, the public was leaving and the band was already backstage, for some reason he ran back on stage and jumped on the public,
- There are no witnesses of the singer climbing the pole, only one person who found his body.

This is always sad.
What in the world tormented that men enough to do something like that.
How much suffering must you endure to get to this point. I've had my
tough times but this is way beyond me. I demand to know more.
It's kind of a fascinating story, that you'd wish, and you know they will;
do a Documentary about. Some could say that it's voyeuristic, and it is
in a way but you want to know the steps ahead; to be able to recognize,
and see it coming, just in case, that such crazy Idea, to end your life?,
crawls onto your head one day.
akutacoAug 22, 2010
You can't really demand to know more about suicidal depression. You either understand it or you don't.
When you get to the point where you literally feel like you're disappearing and nothing ever makes that feeling go away for more than a few minutes at a time, then you'll know what it's like. Till then, making a documentary about it would just be an excuse for a lot of people to feel ashamed and a lot of other people to feel like they're better than other.
meddelemAug 22, 2010
For me, Marijuana makes that feeling go away [really it does]. and the fact that its illegal & black marketed further deepens my sadness; because I'm not black market savvy, I am unable to find it & acquire it. It's Very Frustrating. Also after a bit of personal Cannabis Education, I discovered that the USA has been stifling the industrial economical & ecological benefits of Hemp for most of the 20th century and that Angers me. Coupled with the general Sadness of everyday life, it is enough to want to disregard my own personal human life.
nickbanane are you reading me? do you care?
akutacoAug 23, 2010
Are you seriously trying to equate not being able to smoke weed with not being able to stand your existence?
If you truly feel that weed makes living easier, move to California or one of the other states that allows it for medical use. Or do something that will actually help you by going to counseling or something. Marijuana isn't some magical cure for all of your life problems. You're gonna have to actually work on those if you want them to go away.
solkreAug 22, 2010
"What in the world tormented that men enough to do something like that."
Probably a woman.
nickbananeAug 23, 2010
Wrong :-)
I'm not gay either .... BTW
I don't know, I must just car about people, maybe too much.
You should try it a little. :-)
nickbananeAug 23, 2010
Wrong.
I simply care about people... Maybe too much.
But I suggest to try anyway.
nickbananeAug 23, 2010
And you're probably a Guy!
And I am too BTW; and I am not gay either, poinless to say
but mentioning anyway as I have the strange feeling that
you're the type to ask in a reply.
This story was sad to me and I simply care about people,
you should try also.
solkreAug 23, 2010
The hell?
drsnugglebunnyAug 22, 2010
Now that's taking "Go out on a high note" too far!
russ3Aug 22, 2010

tonydapony10Aug 22, 2010
why is 'commits suicide' in quotes...
dhughesAug 22, 2010
Maybe because they are quoting someone who said it?
diggamyteAug 22, 2010
I was wondering "the same thing" myself.
alimantadoAug 22, 2010
The Belgian authorities said it was a suicide but I guess because he's a british citizen they're waiting for the uk to confirm it.
zippyvAug 22, 2010
It's not up to the uk to decide that.
Closed AccountAug 22, 2010
Coroner needs to confirm it.
zippyvAug 22, 2010
An official doctor already confirmed it on the scene, no further diagnostics on the body will be done.
ogami1972Aug 22, 2010
i don't think it was intentional. He was prolly drunk or high, and thought "oo! i'm-a climbin to the top!"...not so much...poor kid. :(
doomesticAug 22, 2010
Why is your question ending with an ellipse instead of a question mark?
tonydapony10Aug 22, 2010
it ended in an ellipses... not an ellipse.

barbas06Aug 22, 2010
I came here for the comment most successfully making fun of his death. You sir, have won
idiggaponyAug 22, 2010
I would have gone with "Nearing the end of his fatal dive, he was heard to exclaim 'hey, wasn't there supposed to be a swimming pool down here?'"
Either way, we should both be ashamed of ourselves.

zeibenAug 22, 2010
What an ironic band name.
seltaeb4Aug 22, 2010
He thought he'd found the swimming pool, and so he took the plunge.
johnmosbyAug 22, 2010
The number of sarcastic, pathetic attempts at humor posted here is astounding. Someone tragically died and all you can do is try to come up with the snarkiest comment possible? You all can go to hell.
zomgflamerAug 22, 2010
hardcore bra
seltaeb4Aug 22, 2010
There's a similar band in France called "Where is la piscine."
brayd1377Aug 22, 2010
He wanted to recreate the scene from almost famous but forgot the pool
His final words were "I'm on drugs!'.
tommyrAug 22, 2010
No video of it? FAIL.
bothausAug 22, 2010
I thought this was a Lost parody. Sad, but those guys look like "Le Douche" and that guy looks like Charlie.
