Conspicuously missing from this list is the entire city of Portland, Oregon.

That's why I place my bookcases in my closets and never tell anyone if I'm writing. The latter is like a weight-loss program; if you tell people you're doing it, you're less likely to follow through and people are more likely to offer their unwelcomed criticisms. (& most of them have less of a f**king clue of how to live their life than I do how to live mine). The 'oh these dicks have co-opted what I like' sentiment shouldn't fly. Own what you do; I still tuck in my shirt motherf**ker.

"Popular protest groups, like Critical Mass, can be totally peaceful and responsible, but a lot of other groups are dangerous and idiotic, because that's what happens when you form a mob."
What the hell, Critical Mass are the worst d-bags ever to ride the Earth... What does it take to measure-up to douchebag in the author's mind... Do you have to be a baby killer or something.

Conspicuously, cracked.com and digg.com are missing from that list.
Seriously, if you want to wear a fedora then wear one. Be your own person and not a follower. Fashion trends are created/resurrected by leaders, not followers.

Why would I make my buying decision dependent on what hipsters do? That's giving them way too much credit.
