It was five times named best restaurant in the world by the San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants produced by Restaurant magazine, based on the opinions of some 800 chefs, critics and industry experts.
The accolade though was not with one which Mr Adria entirely concurred.
"It is not the best restaurant in the world because that does not exist," he said last week, "but it is today the most influential place in the world in terms of cuisine, and especially when it comes to creativity."

It makes sense to me. He is saying that there shouldn't be any single best restaurant, as the dining experience should be entirely unique to each individual.
It would be like saying there is a best painting or novel in the world. There are many influential and creative ones, but it is pointless to say that one is the best.

Call me crazy, but shouldn't the worlds best restaurant be able to turn a profit? Perhaps if it was featured on Kitchen Nightmares, Chef Ramsey could've turned things around and they could still be serving the "best" cuisine.
