This article makes women seem vapid. It talks about how they shop more online and spend more time playing social games and tweeting. It does not show how they rule the internet. It kinda points out how they waste more time on the internet. Way to demean yourself.

Are you sure you read the article? Women are the slight majority consumers in social media and shopping services online.
In what way does that make women 'more brilliant' ? It is simply pointing out that if you want to market gossip and shoes your target audience should be middle aged women. I for one am SHOCKED.

Really, I would think that Digg would have gotten over the "women belong in the kitchen" thing a long time ago. It's old and sophomoric.
It seems to me that the site was more implying that, as far as shopping goes, mothers and women shopping for family spend a lot online. I don't think they meant that we so much rule the internet on a whole, as we do financially.
