They is be a little bit kind of like it.

That is just insane looking!

Interesting that the windows are simply facing different directions, but it's the exterior body of the building protruding past the windows that gives the twisted illusion, making every apartment's floor plan slightly unique in its own way. You could truly say that "nobody else has this exact apartment." Great submission.

It appears that all the windows are flush with each other horizontally and vertically, so the interior walls are all going to be flush too, which would lead to the interior floor plans being the same as others. When you walk into one apartment and then the one next door, they would be the same dimensions inside.

How about building something ascetically pleasing.

Submitted more than 9 hours ago, on Digg's front page, and just a handful of comments. Why do we bother with Digg any more?

It was submitted by Kevin Rose. I'm sure he has a magic "post on the front page" button. I mean, why shouldn't he? He kinda created the site, you ****.

I would like to see the interior of the building to see how the rippling design flows from and follows the building's exterior. I doubt that interior walls will follow the same design, but perhaps the entry lobby in some way?
The bottom five floors is supposed to covered in tan-colored brick, and houses a pre-K through 8th grade school, then morphs into rippled stainless steel skin for the tower. I think the rather square corners of the tower doesn't follow the ripples flowing across the buildings facade, but I can guess that this was purposely designed to follow the architecture of neighboring towers in Manhattan.
The project is vintage Gehry, and follows similar architectural style flourishes & materials as seen at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A.:

Where is it located? Any ideas?

I'm seeing some Gaudi influences in it. And my first take was "someone's taken the Chrysler building apart and re-used the parts"

Actually, the community didn't want it up, and protested its construction.

Beyond being a very innovative facade on what is otherwise a pretty standard building design this thing is HUGE! So much so, it was a hazard to pedestrians and other buildings during high winds. Check out the article. http://bit.ly/6CpSRR
