fta:
"UC Davis researchers discovered 100% of respondents found EVs fun to drive and practical for daily use, 99% thought home charging to be easy, and 90% found the car to meet their daily driving needs."

Let's see, they bought ridiculously over-priced cars with ridiculously short range and a "refuel" time measured in hours. Yeah, I'm sure they're going to admit to any shortcomings in their vunder cars.

No off course not. They are driving like a boss - All the time.

I worry when I have a quarter tank of gas. I could not take the range anxiety of electric cars.
joeseoJun 22, 2011
The study is flawed. They should have used "recharging time anxiety during a natural disaster" for their test case.

no matter how efficient cars get, it's still cheaper to keep driving the one you currently have, than to buy a new one

not efficient. please perfect the concept before putting it on the market.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Electric vehicles are more efficient than gasoline vehicles.

Even in the worst case scenario electric cars are 32% efficient, whereas gasoline powered cars are 25% efficient.

Frankly if I had one of these I'd spend the $1300 to toss a 2000 watt Honda gasoline generator and 5 gallons of gas in the trunk. The normal plug charger for the Nissan Leaf uses 1400 watts and recovers about 5 miles of range per hour which I would expect to be similar to other electric only cars.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

Why not get a range extender similar to the one used on the experimental tzero? http://www.pureelectric.us/tag/tzero/
Sure beats eating up your cargo space.

That would be because the extremely small percentage of people that are going to buy one know that they never go more than the range of them.
