The last couple of times my family had the flu, everyone else got full on sick for about 1 week and I was mildly sick for 1-2 days, peaked for 1 day, then just a stuffy nose for the rest of the week.

I came in contact with a lot of sick people as a kid and I got sick from them. I think just the sheer amount of times I got sick exercised my immune system. I rarely get sick as an teen/adult, even when I purposefully place myself near/around sick people with no attempts to protect myself.
