there is a fair amount of research that is showing the "cleanliness" obsession is leading to allergies and super bugs. I think it's time the germaphobes spend their money & time in therapy rather than on these devices.

While some people might actually benefit from these things I do think that most people lead too clean a life. When I was a child I did all the usual things like eat mud snails etc. My parents let me be a kid. Though I caught the occasional virus like chicken pox I was remarkably healthy. My parents commented on how I was almost never off from school with illness. As I started work I again had few days off work with illness. In fact in the last thirty years I have probably only had a few colds. I have a spectacularly good immune response to illness, yet I take no precautions, other than dressing appropriately. So if people kept their bodies attuned to small infections then the body becomes prepared for other illnesses. Without these little episodes the immune system weakens.
