Grades weren't his problem; pissing off his professors was his problem. He couldn't get a teaching job because he couldn't get recommendations.

He had a teaching job.

read your own article. he was unable to get a teaching job until after he published relativity and became famous...rather late in life...afterwards, ofcourse, he had teaching offers to the extreme...
craig1958Feb 12, 2012
Correct, a friend got him the job in the patent office when he was unable to get an appointment at a university. I believe he also tutored and/or taught secondary school at some point. It's been a long time since I read his biography.

Then I'm guessing he knew how to tie his shoes too?
djgump35Feb 11, 2012
read the biography, but good for those who haven't.

One reason for the lie, grading system was different from one district to next.First 1 was best next 4 was. So,it was opposite.

Finally some evidences to back it up
glmclendonFeb 11, 2012

who cares about his grades, he was one of the greatest inventors ever.
craig1958Feb 11, 2012
I don't think he would appreciate being called an "inventor."
michaelpaul529Feb 11, 2012
uh......
craig1958Feb 11, 2012
Reinventing physics isn't the same thing as designing a better mouse trap in your garage. Would you call Yo-Yo Ma one of the best fiddle players?
michaelpaul529Feb 11, 2012
Alright hes one of the greatest physicists to live.
craig1958Feb 11, 2012
Sorry, I'm just being a smart ass.
dmm219Feb 11, 2012
you don't "invent" the laws of nature. you discover them.
craig1958Feb 12, 2012
That's a very interesting question. Did he just "invent" a new model, or did he really "discover" something about the fundamental laws of nature? I hope we find out during my lifetime.

Doesn't change the fact that Einstein was autistic..
