Both chicks = busted. Nuff said.
gwodusAug 7, 2011
Exactly: Left side: extremely ugly. Right side: pretty ugly too.
smilingoatAug 7, 2011
really? a hole in an ear is uglier than the stick figure? thats actually kind of f**ked up.

Left side: Extremely ugly.
Right side: Buy her dinner first.

I don't get why females think that looking like a skeleton and feeling sick all the time makes them look beautiful. I mean, when I hug a female I like something to hold on to.
JLF2035Aug 7, 2011
Because some women are insecure and retarded enough to believe what magazines tell them.
Closed AccountAug 7, 2011
magazines can talk now?
haso18Aug 7, 2011
i like skinny girls. but the girl on the right is retarded... thats not skinny, thats malnourished.
cyberdactylAug 6, 2011
The sad aspect is the one on the right has a chance of being normal. The one on the left as scarred themselves for life when they finally grow up and realize it was a silly phase.
orionxxxAug 6, 2011
Right, I would never consider someone with body modifications to be a human being with thoughts and feelings, and they should never be treated as such.

That's an exaggeration, but I don't think many people feel that self-mutilation demands respect.
sideburnsbrentAug 7, 2011
And the woman on the right hasn't scarred herself for life, increasing her risk of osteoporosis to about 90%, as well as permanent nerve damage and organ failure due to consistent malnourishment?
indurenAug 6, 2011
I've never met anyone who actually considers the model on the right beautiful.
orionxxxAug 6, 2011
My girlfriend has anorexia and would probably still call herself fat if she looked like that
indurenAug 6, 2011
I sincerely hope she is able to recover from that.
gwodusAug 7, 2011
Right. That's the funny thing. Even when I am joking around with my buddies after a couple beers - not one - not one ever - said that girls like those are sexy. So how come so many women strive for that look. Sometimes I think it's a purely female invention. Men don't dig that.
haso18Aug 7, 2011
the thing is in MOST cases, guys wish their partner would be more physically fit, more toned, less fat. However when the woman doesn't know how far to take that, sometimes she goes all the way, and eats half a cucumber a day.
jspurlockAug 6, 2011
I maye the only one on this, but I find any sort of body modification atrocious. When I say any, I mean any. Tattoos, excessive ear piercings, piercing when there shouldn't be piercings, ear gauges, and most of all, malnurished bodies. If you want that body and complain that eating an apple would make you fat, then go live in Africa and bring a starving child here to take you place.
tl;dr It's just stupid, all of it.
agmlauncherAug 6, 2011
I hate the attitude behind body modifications. A couple tattoos here and there are fine. But when someone is using tattoos or piercings to make a statement, you can tell there are some hidden psychological problems in that brain of theirs.
It's a lot like people who have 293472394732 bumpers stickers all over their car. You just know they've got issues.
jacoboxsiAug 6, 2011
let me start off by pointing out how simple minded you are. people have been modifying their bodies since the beginning of time. ( the Mursi tribe in Africa, Mayans, the Philippines, immense amounts of India's population, the Fiji's, etc.. ) Everything can be taken to an extreme. Personally, I have multiple gauges starting with 2 inch plugs in each ear which are most relevant to this post.
Saying that I have some kind of impaired brain is probably the most idiotic thing i've ever heard someone say about body modification. There are people who do it for a statement and DO make a mistake in modifying their body... but to be THAT bold with your statements? out-f**king-rageous. my modifications are not to "make a statement" and you'd be surprised to find that most people that are doing it have the very opposite of an "attitude", yet living very humble day to day lives and using their modifications to represent that. (EXAMPLE: A TIME WITHOUT FEAR OF NUCLEAR WAR, TOTALITARIAN DICTATORS, GOVERNMENTS, ORGANIZED RELIGION, you finish the list.) Primitivism and Pacifism.
The woman on the right does what she pleases just as the person on the left does, just as you do on your 9 to 5. The more simpletons like you there are in the world, the more homophobia, racism, and general prejudice will push down on the lives of others. You should really take a look at your life and then determine whether or not it's just to claim that someone who is partaking in a practice that has existed for thousands of years up until present day, has hidden psychological problems.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

haso18Aug 7, 2011
now hold on just a minute. if you want to look at this religiously, you are not allowed to torture your body because god gave you your body as a gift. (note i said god not God).
If you look at it through the eyes of a traditional family, you need to have a clean body in order to be respected and looked up to by the younger generations.
If you wanted to make a statement of dedication to a cause/person, a permanent mark on your body may feel like a good first step. That is unless you change your mind. If later you no longer wanted a butterfly near your vagina, or a skull on your arm, you may feel much regret. As a tattoo fades away and turns from sharp to disgusting, you seem to age as a bad-ass regardless of how much you try to fix your image. Call me old fashioned but in my very opinion, nobody likes a bad-ass grandfather. Rather this persons position should be for stability and reassurance.
drewdaddy213Aug 6, 2011
Certainly some people are as enlightened as you, but certainly not all.
Do you think every girl who goes in for a tramp stamp or every punk that gets gauges is REALLY considering the several thousand year long history of tattoo art or ear stretching?
For every African studies major who has masai plates in his ears (I don't know that that's a thing, but insert actual tribal connection here) there are 20 punks with metal spikes coming out of their head and spine piercings and full body tattoos, and whether you like it or not, many of those will have done it to get back at their parents for something.
jacoboxsiAug 6, 2011
everything can be taken over the top. it's absolutely true but it's the way that people handle it that is completely wrong.
youseinaviAug 6, 2011
Being as into modification as you are, you should know that they're not called gauges. Gauge is the form of measurement used in smaller sizes until you get big enough to measure them in inches or millimeters., not the name of the piercing itself. The proper thing to say is that you have stretched piercings or stretched lobes.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
jacoboxsiAug 6, 2011
you sir are an idiot. am i speaking to body mod aficionados? not really. i'm speaking to general public dick wad. they're called Gauges, plugs, mods, stretchers, tunnels, punches, and so on. i wasn't aware that body modification had a dictionary. go troll some other post n00b.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
youseinaviAug 6, 2011
Wow, I actually dugg you up because I liked your original post, but all you're accomplishing here is NOT convincing anyone who's not a part of the body-mod community while simulatneously making yourself out to look like an idiot to anyone that is. They are NOT called 'gauges' and anyone worth their salt in the industry would kindly sell you some 'gauges' in their shop and then laugh about what a tool you are once you left. It's people like you that cause people to believe people with body modifications are uneducated ****. Grats on being part of the problem.
orionxxxAug 6, 2011
Debate over whether we should be calling them "gauges" or "plugs" or "stretched lobes" is ridiculous. It's all semantics. I could call my carbonated bevarage "coke", "soda", or "pop" but they're all referring to the same thing; regardless of the noun chosen. Does it REALLY matter??
youseinaviAug 6, 2011
It's like referring to a hard drive by it's size. You don't say you got a new gigabyte, you say you got a new hard drive and it's size is 500 gigabytes. (Or in your soda reference, calling it a liter) A gauge is something in your car that measures your RPMs, not a piece of jewelry. 'What gauge are your gauges?' is a long-running joke in the body-mod community and the easiest way to mark yourself as being a 'n00b' or, in the case of someone pretending to be an expert and still using that term, someone who has no idea what they're talking about. No one in the industry will take you seriously if you're calling them 'gauges' and I wasn't trying to be a bitch in correcting, but just letting him know the proper terminology for something that he obviously cares a great deal about.
airmann90Aug 7, 2011
I'm guessing gauge is referring to the size of the hoop itself...?
auztin78Aug 7, 2011
It's not a debate.. it's simply a wrongly used term. Gauge is a unit of measurement. It's like seeing someone's jewelry and saying.. hey cool 'inches' It's not a verb.. you don't 'gauge' ears. It's not semantics.. it's wide spread ignorance that shouldn't be defended.
auztin78Aug 7, 2011
Airmann90- Gauge in this instance is referring to the american wire gauge standard. On jewelry it's the measurement of the diameter of the portion that rests in the ear. Or it can be used to describe what size the lobe or other modifications is stretched to.
aladinsaneAug 6, 2011
Personally, I just find it amusing how many fat, virgin Diggers (who were previously all against giant ear holes) are voting you Up just because you claim to be a girl. "OMG! A total stranger has a female avatar and claims to be a GURL! OMG! I'll TOTALLY GET LAID FOR VOTING HER UP!"
Here's the thing: nobody with a brain gives a crap what you call the ring you stick in your earlobe. If you think for even a second that mutilating yourself somehow makes you a beautiful human Snowflake, you're as deluded as the idiots who think agreeing with you because of your Avatar is the same as having sex. I have no doubt the same bespectacled cretins will vote me Down in their rush to "defend your honor", blissfully unaware that they're probably making idiots of themselves over a 42-year-old auto mechanic from Jersey.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

When did digg allow you to see who diggs comments? Calm down, dude, you're projecting way too much here. (And my ears aren't even stretched large.) O_o
daboobzAug 6, 2011
i think all agm is trying to say is that those people that take these body modifications to the extreme do it for a reason and that, most likely, that reason is rooted in something unusual.
I don't necessarily agree that they have "hidden psychological problems" but I would agree with him when he says, "they've got issues." And, certainly, not all of them have issues but I would say that those that live in modern western societies do.
Honestly, though, I have no idea where you're going with governments, dictators, religion, "attitude", prejudice, homophobia, racism, etc. Seems kind of "simpleton" to presume that agm, or I for that matter, believe in any one of those things simply because we generally believe that people with dozens of tats and piercings are probably dealing with some internal baggage.
Note that we're not saying these people are bad in any kind of way. Most of us have some kind of internal struggle that we cope with in different ways. Some people eat a lot, others eat too little, some put bumper stickers all over their car, others are promiscuous. I don't think anything is morally wrong with any of those things but chances are those people are dealing with something internally. Tattoos and what not are just external manifestations of some internal turmoil.
No reason to get defensive and blow things out of proportion.
auztin78Aug 7, 2011
Why do tattoos and piercings have to be manifestations of internal turmoil? Some people actually do enjoy the aesthitics of it. It's slowly becoming less taboo and more fashionable.
daboobzAug 7, 2011
I like dogs. I have one. If I had 30 at my residence, something is wrong with me.
You're basically telling me, "what's wrong with dogs? many people own them."
auztin78Aug 8, 2011
I think taking general statements and using it to stereotype people is pretty extreme. I'm sure it works in some cases, but most of the heavily tattooed and pierced people I'm around own their own lucrative companies and are extremely motivated, ambitious and kind people.
koolamAug 6, 2011
you wrote such a big tirade of words to prove you don't know s**t. case in point - "immense amounts of India's population". please enlighten the rest of the ignorant world to this fact by showing some proof. or you just thought, like the rest of america, that India is a land of snake charmers, so lets just throw this as well onto them. so much for the freedom of speech that we have gone to utter ignorance !!!
elimgarakAug 6, 2011
That's an extremely insulting rant that says more about you than about us. You want to do some crazy thing to your body for some strange reason - go right ahead. But the bottom line is that many of these things are rather disturbing to us.
And just because we don't find these type of things attractive we are automatically racists or homophobes? Or equivalent to them?
I think you are projecting.
agmlauncherAug 6, 2011
"people have been modifying their bodies since the beginning of time"
Yeah I love this argument because it's so easy to dismantle. I'll start off by saying this: you'll learn more about human nature by taking an anthropology course than you will a psychology course, because an anthropology course will make it clear why we wear makeup, shiny jewelry, drive hummers with 30" chrome spinners etc.
It's all derived from our primitive and ritualistic past when we were simple minded and needed to use visual communications since we lacked proper written and verbal communication. It's like when a toddler plays with colors, shapes, and images before he learns language.
So given that, it then becomes interesting that the more primitive a tribe/society is, the more they use extreme body modification as a substitute for their lack of real language and the societal structure that comes with it.
Thus the whole "body modifications has tribal roots" argument makes the argument for extreme body modifications WORSE, because what f**king good is emulating a tribe/society that still chases after rabbits with spears and communicates by clicking? If anything, these tribes show us just how far human beings have to go before we place greater and more logical/practical emphasis on things OTHER than body modifications.
gwodusAug 7, 2011
Thanks. That pretty much sums up my own impressions. Whenever I meet body modified people it doesn't take long and I get the feeling that they are pretty primitive. There is definitely a connection.
Even though they sometimes hide it pretty well with their 'oh I am just expressing myself through my body' attitude. But actually they are mostly idiots. I guess if they're not able to express themselves through their own mind then they need some pictures and signs on their body. It's like comparing a novel to a coloring book.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

When should there be piercings?
auztin78Aug 7, 2011
I started working in the body modification industry a couple of years ago. Initially the idea of stretched lobes freaked me out and did disgust me. The more time I spent around it and seeing all the various and unique kinds of jewelry you can only wear with stretched lobes.. it grew on me. It's a revived age old practice. It's disgusting to the general public because they're not used to it. Tattoos and piercings are just another way to decorate the body... it may not be your idea of beauty, but to someone else, it's theirs.
casspaAug 6, 2011
