Every day that we spend pursuing pointless wars overseas is another day in which we are responsible for destroying lives. Bring every soldier home, emaciate the military-industrial complex, and let's concentrate on rebuilding America.

You sound like you live in your own isolated little world of gingerbread houses and friendly animals singing in harmony.
Wars existed as far back as before humankind discovered fire. It's not a human nature you can change by acting butthurt about it.

Although I feel bad for the america soldiers. What about all the iraqi civilians that died? what about those kids that saw those images? and it happned to their own dad? would that not haunt them even more in the future?
I hate how an american life is worth more than an iraqi....or vise-versa.

this is what I believe to be largely responsible for the explosion in growth rates seen by terrorist groups in the Middle East since US forces arrived

It doesn't matter what the material price we as a nation has to pay, what should be proper is that we give effort to pay any price necessary to make sure they come back to a place called home.

Nobody truly wins in war. The damages done can span generations. War sucks.
seltaeb4Aug 23, 2010
There is only one victor in war.
The maggots.
So it has been, and ever will be.

... and bankers.

That's the crux isn't it. Nobody who experiences war will be the better for it. But the following generations might feel the benefit and see their children's children in a better world. Then again the opposite is just as true.
luke1h7Aug 23, 2010
Oh yea I agree. We definitely shouldn't have gone to war with the Nazis.
tirauAug 23, 2010
World War II was an aberration among a sea of pointless conflicts.
luke1h7Aug 23, 2010
Plenty of people win in war.

A healthy mental state and the military do not go hand in hand.
onefreespiritAug 23, 2010
Tell that to Sun Tsu or Zhuge Liang.
meribianAug 23, 2010
Life is much too short and precious to spend fighting wars each day! War can't give life, it can only take it away!
CplRobAug 23, 2010
tell that to the Jews in Auschwitz or the slaves in the south...

The worst is IDF. Had a pretty close call and it gives me immense respect for the guys who withstood the massive artillery barrages in WW2 and WW1.
oxidaneAug 23, 2010
Next time a soldier tries to act all tough and macho with me I'm just going to refer back to their war-time experiences and watch them cry about it and hang themselves.
jeebugornAug 23, 2010
one of my fellow Drill Sergeants had a few IED blasts in iraq. has 4 screws in his spine. made it through 2 basic training cycles then a few days ago his wife found him unconscious at their house. a little tramatic brain injury after effects. luckily he's doing fine now.

Well, "freedom isn't free" right? RIGHT? /Just don't tax me to pay for it!

Marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, and LSD can all help treat PTSD, but the DEA/NIH fail to recognize this.
Good job America.

I've read about this type of Virtual Therapy before. I feel like this is a remarkable idea and i've heard that , so far, the results have been incredibly promising. The last time I was reading about this I found a great video explaining how they put this system into practice. I'll post a link to the video if you'd like to see it for yourself.

When you spend a few years mowing down, blowing up, and running over women and children, it's okay if you were doing it to "fight the terrorists."
It's when you figure out you were really doing it for oil companies and the political clout of pipelines to supply China with oil does the mental condition seriously deteriorate...
