First thing, you probably haven't been following Quebec politics lately, because separatism is far from being anything close from a reality. We were oppressed 50 years ago and the threat of separatism reestablished some sort of balance.
That said,we don't thin we are anything better than the rest of Canada. Just different. And from reading your agressive BS, you couldn't prove my point more.
And about Canadian debt, or just money in general. Yes, you have tar sands, Great. norman619Aug 17, 2010
Here's what the CDC found in their study regarding the US population:
http://www.cdc.gov/exposurereport/BisphenolA_FactSheet.html
"Fact Sheet
Bisphenol A (BPA)
Bisphenol A (BPA) is used to manufacture polycarbonate plastics. This type of plastic is used to make some types of beverage containers, compact disks, plastic dinnerware, impact-resistant safety equipment, automobile parts, and toys. BPA epoxy resins are used in the protective linings of food cans, in dental sealants, and in other products.
How People Are Exposed to BPA
General exposure to BPA at low levels comes from eating food or drinking water stored in containers that have BPA. Small children may be exposed by hand-to-mouth and direct oral (mouth) contact with materials containing BPA. Dental treatment with BPA-containing sealants also results in short-term exposure. In addition, workers who manufacture products that contain BPA can be exposed.
How BPA Affects People's Health
Human health effects from BPA at low environmental exposures are unknown. BPA has been shown to affect the reproductive systems of laboratory animals. More research is needed to understand the human health effects of exposure to BPA.
Levels of BPA in the U.S. Population
In the Fourth National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals (Fourth Report), CDC scientists measured BPA in the urine of 2,517 participants aged six years and older who took part in CDC's National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) during 2003–2004. By measuring BPA in urine, scientists can estimate the amount of BPA that has entered peoples' bodies.
CDC scientists found BPA in the urine of nearly all of the people tested, which indicates widespread exposure to BPA in the U.S. population.
Finding a measurable amount of BPA in the urine does not mean that the levels of BPA cause an adverse health effect. Biomonitoring studies on levels of BPA provide physicians and public health officials with reference values so that they can determine whether people have been exposed to higher levels of BPA than are found in the general population. Biomonitoring data can also help scientists plan and conduct research on exposure and health effects. "
It's pretty high here as well.
bonestampAug 17, 2010

I'm sorry do Americans not use any of these products, what kind of statistic do you imagine the U.S. will have?! Think before you post.
neutron7Aug 17, 2010
Well they can do that in any modern civilized country which is not run by robber barons.
monodedeAug 17, 2010
Hey that phrase works both ways, "huge-ass f**king bills" or "huge ass-f**king bills," haha!
allbodiesAug 17, 2010
Huge dudes named Bill who ass f**k me always get me a little worried...

"The Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) tested a representative sample of 5,600 Canadians"
Really? 5,600 people represents an entire nation? I can see this if the study was conducted in a single province near some chemical-spewing factory, but the article says nothing of how wide a demographic this study takes place in.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
fordsvt1Aug 17, 2010
I'd say drinking from plastic bottles is a pretty universal thing to do, a random sample is probably quite accurate.
njdoo7Aug 17, 2010
You yourself probably come in contact with BPA regularily, assuming you touch plastics and/or store receipts.
google: bpa receipts study
kook321Aug 17, 2010
Most nationally representative samples conducted in the US have sample sizes of 2,000. So yes, 5,600 is a good representative sample size

Their beer sucks, too. Poor country :-(

trublmakrAug 17, 2010
Canadian,.. caught the Canadian Bacon reference,.. and still think just saying those words together is a crime against humanity. No excuse for that depth of malicious slander. Think of the children who might be reading!

Oh! That explains Justin Bieber ...
frankfutterAug 17, 2010
We apologize for releasing Justin Bieber into the wild. She was a joke that got out of control.
rpapi100Aug 17, 2010
Yup. Same dude who started the one with Celine Dion and Nickelback. I guess we do have WMDs.

Ah well, we've also recently given the world Broken Social Scene and the Arcade Fire. We don't have to feel bad.

And I like to point out Metric and Alexisonfire for the kids too. Shame our good music doesn't get fair play

We're sorry about nickelback. Sorry.
trevorpaceAug 17, 2010
I'm not gonna take the credit for Nickelback. That's completely Alberta's fault.
dyslexicgodAug 20, 2010
f**kin' Alberta, man. Stupid province churned out Stephen Harper as well. Good job on Dion Phaneuf, though.

Im 51 years old. I dont think you have to look very hard to see the difference in how masculine (or not!) that men have gone, across the last few generations. I have always wondered what was going on and why things were changing.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

"Im 51 years old. I dont think you have to look very hard to see the difference in how masculine (or not!) that men have gone, across the last few generations."
One has nothing to do with the other. Estrogen and estrogen-like substances do not cancel out or block testosterone. Might give you manboobs, but that's about it.
As for the supposed de-manification of men, that's nothing more than a stereotypical golden age fallacy. Open your eyes. Hardworking dudes are everywhere. Men who hold the door open for women are everywhere. Men who are raging f**king douchebags are everywhere. And yes, men who like to do a bit of knitting on the weekend are everywhere. So it has been since the dawn of man; so it continues to be.

1) You're a dumb ass that takes way too much of your world view from TV.
2) WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH society isn't exactly the same as 50 years ago!

Manboobs are not very masculine, I dont care who you put them on or how much testosterone the dude has.

lordbalderdashAug 17, 2010
not only that, but their 'bacon' is a lie.
it's tasty, but it ain't bacon.
ripersnifleAug 17, 2010
Actually just Americans call it Canadian bacon. We call it smoked ham.
trublmakrAug 17, 2010
No,.. we call it back bacon.
machinist09Aug 17, 2010
This "Canadian Bacon" as you yanks(and I mean that in a nice way) call it is simply the most inaccurate name ever. We have bacon, exactly the same as yours. What you call "Canadian Bacon", we simply call ham. True Canadian bacon, is BACON. Glorious f**king bacon...drool....
stuffradioAug 17, 2010
With Maple Syrup!
daedoneAug 17, 2010
you take that back......you take that back RIGHT NOW!
stuffradioAug 17, 2010
Don't blame us for the lies the American government is feeding you! Canadian Bacon... ha ha ha!
thecoffeeAug 17, 2010
"Canadian Bacon" here in the states is essentially in the same naming system of "American Cheese".
"Cheap-ass ham" does not sell well as a pizza topping.
kernel16Aug 17, 2010
Bieber, case in point.
skinturtleAug 17, 2010
No wonder there are so many gay men here.
vbexpertAug 17, 2010
It sucks that I am a 19 year old Canadian...
frankfutterAug 17, 2010
Don't worry, you're legal now to drink beer anywhere in the country!
wreckageAug 17, 2010
At least you don't have to wait until your are 21 to drink.
machinist09Aug 17, 2010
As I Canadian, I've got a beef with that. Your 18-year-olds are old enough to go die in the name of freedom and democracy, but they aren't old enough to have a beer with their fellow soldiers!
oxidaneAug 17, 2010
machinist, that's a pretty old line, and frankly, it's none of your business to have a beef with.
thatryanguyAug 17, 2010
Yeah machinist, you scumbag, only Americans are allowed to have negative opinions about America and it's policies.
