It seems like every few months another cruise ship is in the news. I don't think that helps promote their industry.

An outbreak of norovirus is not unusual on cruise ships, which are simply a large number of captive people in a small space for days on end. There is a good chance that someone in the crowd is going to be a carrier, because norovirus is not uncommon in our society.
Once it starts to spread on a cruise ship, it spreads rapidly and no one can get away from it.
Cruise lines do not like to talk about problems like these . . .
