I have been in a few Churches that were converted into homes. They were just beautiful inside. I think a library conversion would be fantastic as well.

There's an Italian restaurant in a converted church just down the street, and it still feels like a church every time I eat there -- just smells better!

In addition to Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh (which is excellent, btw), they also had another church there that had been converted into a nightclub called Altar Bar.
Churches make for great venues, religious or otherwise.

The library/bookstore idea is a pretty cool one. They missed my favorite though. Here in Denver there is an old church that was transformed into a nightclub.

There was one in Virginia that was the studio of a Christian Television station for quite a few years.
One around here that is used by a charitable org that helps the desperate.
