And when PSN goes back online shortly, that number will plummet to zero. /yawn for stupid surveys.
johnomazzApr 30, 2011
I play almost exclusively on Xbox Live. PSN sucks balls. It constantly disconnects and is laggy as hell. Xbox Live is never laggy for me and only get disconnects if someone hosting the game leaves.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
smokezzApr 30, 2011
I don't have issues on either one, I have all 3 consoles...
The point is though, the survey is taken while PSN is down. It's a stupid time to do a survey, other than to drive traffic to their site of course.
EVILNODApr 30, 2011
i dont really care about CC info.. Credit card are easy replace by single phone call. the problem i have with sony is "personal information" which you can't just replace with different one. with birthday, name, address.. its very easy for someone to do a identity theft which much harder to stop and thats what worry me.
a single CC info is not big deal, but do you really want to deal with none stop credit card charge with wasn't yours??
i only use PSN once to buy fallout3 DLC, now i really wish i never done it.
neotechniApr 30, 2011
agreed
smokezzApr 30, 2011
Yup, and I have a really BIG problem with how long they took to disclose it. I just seriously doubt people are going to run out and spend hundreds (possibly thousands depending on how many games and the hardware they need) to switch to another console. Not once PSN it back online.
swordedgeMay 1, 2011
I don't believe that Xbox Live is anymore secure for some reason. The number of security breaches lately seems higher than usual.
smokezzMay 1, 2011
Criminals are going after anything that has potential for financial information... This and the Epsilon hack were probably the worst hacks so far this year.
godsbongApr 30, 2011
And another survey shows Trump is leading the Republican bid for President.
Surveys, something no one really cares about since forever.
rikninoApr 30, 2011
ps3 no RROD! I'm staying with ps3.
frayedknotjeffApr 30, 2011
I know people who's PS3 broke down after an update.
manicdvlnApr 30, 2011
I would have gladly switched to XBOX 360 but no bluray and no free online gaming turns me off.
princeimrahilApr 30, 2011
How about moving to the PC where you don't have to pay to play online?
lordphoenyxApr 30, 2011
What about WOW or City of Heroes?
princeimrahilApr 30, 2011
That is an MMO and would cost money on the consoles as well (DC Universe Online for example)
tmossbossApr 30, 2011
Xbox may have the month thing but other than that it is so cool one of the best systems
4Herp2Derp0Apr 30, 2011
I find buying the cards for 12 months online is the best way to go.
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Month-Live-Gold-Card/dp/B0029LJIFG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304176708&sr=8-1
$44 for 12 months. Not a bad deal at all.
elmuerte17Apr 30, 2011
One of the best systems, in a market of three systems (four if you count PC gaming)... quite an achievement, that.
pcyopickApr 30, 2011
WE have all 3 systems, and for us we use the Xbox about 75% of the time. The PS3 we use mainly for Bluray.
jgmcgowanApr 30, 2011
I just sold my 250gb Slim Xbox 360 for full retail value this week on Ebay, it was used and 9 months old. No way could I have done that 2 weeks ago.
diggid3May 1, 2011
So the majority viz. 79% will just stick to their PS3 - BS surveys!
piccolojrApr 30, 2011
Going over to Microsoft is a fate worse than death. Stay with Sony.
Closed AccountApr 30, 2011
I didn't realize Xbox live was immune to security breaches
wandmastercalumApr 30, 2011
Forget considering! A lot of my friends who had an ps3 have now got an xbox.
antiproApr 30, 2011
It makes sense if you're a PS3 user that also owns an Xbox but otherwise that's a decent amount of cash to fork over when you include the price of Xbox Live.
Also, after this whole debacle, I'd imagine Sony will implement new security measures that I can only hope are tighter than a zygote's butt hole.
lazyspartanApr 30, 2011
That's really tight.
nayriusApr 30, 2011
$54 a year is a decent amount of cash?
antiproApr 30, 2011
that's on top of buying the system. sorry if i wasn't clear about that.
also, any amount of cash is a decent amount compared to zero $.
roy5000x2Apr 30, 2011
Sounds like it's a good time for me to pick up a PS3 for not too much. Gran Turismo 5, here I come.
barmatApr 30, 2011
I made the switch about a year ago when I picked up a fat Arcade on sale combined w/ a third party hard drive for about $150 total. My PS3 now only gets used for Blu Ray movies and exclusives. The exclusives haven't been compelling enough for me to buy so the PS3 is gonna go on Craig's list soon.
townidiotApr 30, 2011
I ain't saying it's right. But you're saying a security breach don't mean nothing, and I'm saying it does. Now look, I've given a million companies a million credit card purchases, and they all meant something. We act like they don't, but they do, and that's what's so f**king cool about them. There's a trust thing going on where you don't talk about it, but you know it, they know it, f**king hackers knew it, and Sony should have f**king better known better. I mean, that's our private information, man. We can't be expected to have a sense of humor about that s**t. You know what I'm saying?
minnullApr 30, 2011
That's an interesting point. Come on, let's get into character.
idiggitallApr 30, 2011
I just prefer the way the PS3 is built, it's use as a media center and their exclusive games are much better than Microsofts. It's quality engineering, with the exception of the security breach, but that's a network issue not the fault of the PS3 itself. Microsoft Live is just as vulnerable as PSN.
geekgirlsruleApr 30, 2011
Well the same hacker attack could happen to Xbox so lets hope Microsoft secures any holes. If you are going to switch from PS3 is shouldn't be because of the hack - that ship has sailed, unfortunately. It should be because you like the platform better and the games.
hillbillytylerApr 30, 2011
I bet it was microsoft that haxd ps3
phillymozartApr 30, 2011
The PS3 needs to do well because Microsoft is a very lazy competitor and needs serious competition to keep them honest.
tylacApr 30, 2011
well lets have ps3 users take this survey after the PSN comes back up
sniperApr 30, 2011
Who did they poll, 5 people? Unless you already own a 360 there's no way over 10 million people are going to switch to xbox. It should also be worth noting that vgchartz are bias toward Microsoft.
myztryMay 5, 2011
This survey is proudly sponsored by Xbox 360.
There are three kinds of lies. Lies, damned lies & surveys.
/end xbox 360 owner....
peterwillbMay 1, 2011
Do it!
HowIsBabbyFormedMay 1, 2011
vgchartz sucks
2serveMay 1, 2011
lol... why?! It's not like Microsoft products are going to be safer... Hacking and Microsoft, bread and butter... they're known to go together..
quadraqMay 1, 2011
Hope they like FPS. That's most of the good games.
smilingoatMay 1, 2011
I already have the xbox and PS3, got the PS3 version of Portal 2 because i like playing it mostly on my couch, not my PC, and getting the PS3 version gives me the option of both, where the xbox version didnt.
needless to day, im not very happy that i cant play/experience the game with my friends and family unless i get on my PC.
dsmxMay 1, 2011
That's not what the survey shows, what it shows is 21% of people surveyed are considering moving, that is not the same as 21% of ps3 owners considering moving.
frostwrathApr 30, 2011
Pay to switch to a console that tends to have the ugly version of any cross platform games, a lack of blu-ray, a bill to use the net, points instead of trophies (which is superior to me; less generic feeling), RROD (admittedly on the drop), no The Last Guardian, less comfortable controllers and sharing my downloaded games for free with my brother and two best friends? Live is better, but come on. Not even Nidhoggr, the net serpent should be able to drive me away.
There are plenty of amazing single player games to enjoy for these couple of weeks. Sure, it's inconvenient, but it's NPR like the console caught fire. Jeez.
youvandal411vmApr 30, 2011
Another great reason that I'm glad Bury is back.
dash1986Apr 30, 2011
I wouldn't be pissed at PSN if they hadn't given hackers a 6 day jump on me before telling me my account and credit card info might have been compromised.
TheBigsterApr 30, 2011
Man, i'm so glad to have an xbox
TheBigsterApr 30, 2011
Man, i'm so glad to have an xbox
tonikg90Apr 30, 2011
I don't really feel any differences b/w these two platforms. Am I going to move to Xbox? Not interested yet, may be...

Here we go again, Gamingforever at it's best spamming content with multiple accounts. Diggers this scum bag has been plaguing reddit and digg for a long time. Check this thread on digg for more details:

diggopenerApr 30, 2011
For months GamingForever has been running multiple accounts to push garabge stories on various social media websites like digg and reddit. Recently this same guy was banned from reddit, you can check that out here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/gepnl/gamepro_g4tv_and_vgchartz_gamrfeed_have_been/
As you can probably see hes been spamming with 20 odd accounts on reddit before he was busted open.
This became a huge incident which resulted in to gamepro, vgchartz and g4tv being banned on reddit.
The same unfortunately is happening on digg as well.
He's been gaming digg with multiple accounts which I found out (probably could be more, if the digg staff cares to find about this):
His primary account: http://digg.com/gamingforever
The spammy Gamepro account: http://digg.com/GamePro
For vgchartz hes been using multiple accounts:
http://digg.com/tadj
http://digg.com/gukingofheart
As you can see all of these accounts are used for submitting the same websites.
Also these profiles have zero comments and zero diggs on digg.com which means they have been created just to game the system. Who knows he must be burying submissions from other websites so that these garbage websites could front page on digg.com
Now there is nothing wrong with a user submitting the same website on digg.com but the point here is that this guy is using multiple accounts to game and earn money from these so called "mainstream" media.
You can check the gaming page on digg, its infested with gamepro and vgchartz stories: http://digg.com/news/gaming/media/recent
Digg please completely ban these accounts, I'd say they've proven themselves more than worthy of that. If that doesn't happen, everyone, please bury any submissions from these accounts with extreme prejudice. They've been heavily abusing the system for months, and don't deserve any more traffic from digg.

Finally people are seeing the bright side and coming to the xbox
myztryApr 30, 2011
The lesson here is don't give your credit card details to any console maker. Redeem gift cards only. I made the mistake of giving Microsoft my cc a few years ago and they won't allow me to remove the stored card or cancel the auto-renewal. Silly me but Microsoft cards aren't like apple gift cards. None of the Australian retailers are interesting in dealing with Microsoft for gift cards. It may have been Sony this time but Microsoft hardly has a good security record itself.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
asdafasdfafsadfafadafsasApr 30, 2011
That's just a temporary rage but understandable cause I'm also slightly irritated by it, but I wouldn't make such a radical move.
I own both 360 and PS3 and honestly if I had to keep just one it would be the PS3 since for the Microsoft console I only buy the exclusives, console games that are available to both consoles are all bought for the PS3.
For everything else.. the PC is my first choice.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
