YaY! I remember when I first played it. Good memories. Took me a long time to learn how to do the dragon punch. After I learned it I was beating everybody. lol
flyntjacobsMar 31, 2011

Falco09Mar 31, 2011
Actually, it's the Street Fighter franchise's 25th anniversary.
trdrstvApr 1, 2011
And SF 2 came out in 1991.
macdolMar 31, 2011
What a Miss game, it has evoked many memories of my adolescence
tweak212Mar 31, 2011
Memories of collecting cans left on the side of the road, to later turn them in for quarters, to later turn the quarters into arcade minutes?
mstrdiggMar 31, 2011
I want all my quarters back!
Side note, anyone remember arcades?
kuzotzMar 31, 2011
they are things of myths in America, but quite popular in China, Japan, and Korea.. Arcades in those countries are quite fun. Bloody expensive though. Especially in Japan.
mstrdiggMar 31, 2011
Thanks for posting, that's pretty cool. Would love to go some time.
meribianMar 31, 2011
In the 90's when fighting games were actually popular, arcades were big here. I remember spending a ton of time in the Silverball Gamerooms. Then DDR got popular and they started pulling machines to make room for that. Then the novelty of that wore off and the combination of that and consoles being a lot more advanced killed that industry. Sad stuff.
kuzotzApr 1, 2011
yea its still like that in those three countries. fighting games are very popular even the latest ones. its like a hobby for some ppl. I like that gundam 3D game.. quite fun ne!! but bloody expensive, and some assh**es never let you play against computer they just take you out very fast.. soo it gets annoying. don't be a foreigner in any of those countries playing in arcades. unless you are really really good. trust me its tough

Happy Birthday for spreading violence into the 80's

Round 1,fight
smacgMar 31, 2011
This game was an atomic bomb. It changed the landscape of gaming in the same way that Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and Super Mario Bros. did before it. The characters were awesome, the game play was polished, and this was the first fighting game that made playing against a friend so much damn fun. I can't believe it's been 20 years since it hit the scene. I still love this game and all of the later incarnations. HADOKEN!
SwipelifeMar 31, 2011
put your quarters up. i got next
kuzotzMar 31, 2011
damn...... I was 3 yrs old when this game came out.

I liked the introduction where both the fighters in the cut scene looked nothing like the fighters in the game. In this corner we have Archie and in this corner is Leon Phelps from The Ladies Man.
FPSmotoMar 31, 2011
And it's STILL fun to play.
trdrstvApr 1, 2011
Word. I loved that game so much as a kids I bought a SF2 CE arcade machine for my house (2 years ago). Still gets played every week.
Chun Li > all.
MSaltmarshMar 31, 2011
YAY totally love SFII
totally reminds me of first seeing it in the arcades. Then seeing the rainbow hacked version and going OMG WTF?!?!!? AWESOME :D

Now that does make me feel old, I spent a lot of time pumping coins into the archade machine. Inccidently I meet Mr Street Fighter Yoshinori Ono in a Japanese eater in London ... just after the 3DS UK launch.
