Wii 2 is just around the corner
RedLeader1987Apr 18, 2011
The Wii isn't even worth $99 in my opinion. You can literally count all the worthwhile games on one hand. Two if you're being really generous and counting sequels.
ghostsharkApr 18, 2011
Really now? Count them on one hand? Two hands if your being really generous? Try you can count the worthwhile games on both hands, both feet, and then some. Hell withen first year you already had more then 5 very good to great games! I mean damn, launch day one you had some definitely worthwhile games... Trauma Center, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Twilight Princess, came with Wii Sports.. Day one. Saying the Wii doesn't have 10 "worthwhile" games in its entire lifespan thus far is a bit nuts.
RedLeader1987Apr 18, 2011
Out of all those games, the only one you would probably pick up and play again would be Twilight Princess simply because it's a Zelda game. It was pretty good but Nintendo has done better before. DId you know Twilight Princess was actually pushed back for over a year beyond its original release date so they could tack on those gimmicky motion controls? Yeah, it was meant to be a Gamecube title at first, but they didn't want to launch it on a dead system.
I gotta admit I lol'd when you mentioned Wii Sports. Man that game is really fun isn't it? Bet you played it for all of about an hour before you realized you didn't have to swing the remote so enthusiastically for the same results.

Actually I very rarely play ANY games a second time... on any system... ever. Or if I do its many many years later. Wii Sports however I often went back to over the first few years because its simply quick fun. Do you not have to swing the remote so enthusiatically? Oh well, who cares, its fun to do so... I don't see your point in that. We are talking about worthwhile games. There are quite a few games that don't use wiimote much if at all (in the motion way) that are still worthwhile. So who cares if don't have to swing as much in wiisports. I have every current system, console and handheld, and I'm not going to sit here and lie and say I play the Wii more then the other consoles. XBOX360 by far is the most played by me... Wii and PS3 about tied overall. And of course going forward the Wii will take a definite third in play time... but that doesn't mean still isn't a great system. Definitely about 2-3 dozen great games in its lifetime up to this point in my opinion. As of now if were going over its lifetime to this day... its 360>WII>PS3.

If you own all the consoles and handhelds then money is no object to you, and therefore you cannot understand what I mean by worthwhile. When I say worthwhile, I mean getting my moneys worth out of the purchase. I.e., the game itself being of quality, worth playing over again, and basically making me not feel like I just wasted my money on a piece of slop.
Maybe if what you were spending your money on was a dilemma for you then maybe you'd understand.

how could they not already be thinking about their next console? the wii was under powered when it launched, and it relied on a gimmick. at this point, sony and microsoft both have better versions of the wii's selling point, and have much more powerful system on top of that.
there is no place in 2011 for a video console that doesn't have hd outputs.
